actually feasts in Malta start in the third week of May and end in October. Every weekend one can experience a great show of fireworks in different villages around Malta and Gozo. Sometimes feasts coincide in the same weekend and we Maltese are so spoiled for choice which feast to go !
a festival like this is held every week in Malta & Gozo from the end of May till the beginning of September, at different villages. Sometimes there will be more than 5 displays at a time.
@FireCrack83 Well, the best time to come is the first 2 weeks of August were on the 5th & 6th you have Transfiguration of Our Saviour feast of Lija, which produce one of the best fireworks in Malta, and of course on the 14th & 15th you have the Feast of St. Mary, which is celebrated in 7 different localities in Malta including Ghaxaq, Mqabba (Best in Malta) & Qrendi ! Best you come to Mqabba to see the best quality fireworks, but the otherones aren't less beautiful and competitive ! :P
sure it is, i went to matla in the summer and all i heard was fireworks. i could not get one to buy and take to holland for new year. but i wont stop searching.
For sure they are clorate. The fireworks builders in malta are known for pushing the limit with sensitive mixtures, even adding sulfur and antimony to their clorate flashes.
what date is this festival in 2012? me and my mom want to go there on holiday and i want to make sure i got the time right haha :P if some1 could just give me a mail on here please:) thx already
In fact, no they are not less than 100 meters away, they are 200 meters away from any main road or building heights, Here is the law, if you need a reference: (d) ħruq minn distanza ta’ 200 metru mill-abitat jew minn toroq pubbliċi li minnhom jgħaddu b’mod regolari vetturi bil-mutur - kull għamla oħra ta’ logħob tan-nar. justiceservices.gov.mt/DownloadDocument.aspx?app=lom&itemid=9059&l=2
well then try to live in Sliema where you take the ferry, all summer…or in Balluta bay...then live for 1 year in any EU country and tell me if it's the same…this is what I mean.
