I just loved Sophia stories.

Classic TV, back then there was nothing better than the Golden Girls.

You didn't show the Sicily story where Bea Arthur plays Sophia's mother and Grandma had her own story when Sophia interrupted her and Grandma slapped her. Good stuff.

I'm surprised that over seven seasons there are merely less than twenty minutes worth of Sophia's wacky tales of her youth. Anyway, I wish these were chronological so you could see the hairdos on Dorothy and Blanche change, LOL.

Omg my grandma had a similar story about winston Churchill from the time he was deployed in Indian north west frontier province prepartition. 😂🤣😂🤣. An I’m positive I made this up. Except my grandma did have a lot of Sophia in her … feisty spicy and full of stories from her youth. Embellished and exaggerated and of course she used to work alone at them as well😄

I liked the show so much that when I used to visit a Turkish bath house in New Orleans, I would often go off to the TV room to watch reruns of Golden Girls rather than engage in rumpy pumpy, which was the point of the place.

I recently acquired a dresser/nightstand that belonged to my Mom which she bought in 1950. My brother had it stored in a shed and there is some water damage, i.e., veneer pealing in lots of areas. My Dad smoked and both pieces of furniture were LOADED with nicotine filth as well as dirt from sitting for years in this sheds. I had to really clean the furniture and sand it down with 0000 pads because of the condition it was in. I am going to be using Beyond paint (not Reclaimed, though). We'll see how it goes!

10:55 That is such a weird coincidence. I just watched a clip of the new Grand Tour special Carnage A Trois with James May sitting at a lunch table, eating with a shroud over his head. It seemed kind of strange to me and others, until I found somebody explaining in the comments that he is probably eating some sort of delicacy that is disgusting to look at. What kind of meal is that, you ask? It's songbirds drowned in warm, 40 proof cognac, served fully intact. Yum.

Whenever I tuned in to “The Golden Girls”, I was always hoping to hear either “Picture it...!” from Sophia or “Back in St. Olaf...!” from Rose. Then you knew something funny was going to follow! Particularly if Dorothy was in the room as well! 😁

I never forgot the Yalta Conference story. Every time Yalta popped up on some program or in my history classes I would think of Sophia. 😂👍

Sophia IS lying about Picasso, if my math is right in 1912 she was only 7 years old, she was 80 when the show started in 1985, which means she was born in 1905

Just sitting here listening to Sophia brings back so many great memories with my momma.She absolutely loved the Golden Girls.We would watch it every morning just to get our day started. Thank you for being a friend was like roll call. Thanks for posting all this great Sophia footage.

Amusing but I couldn't help but notice the reference to 1912... rather odd because Sophia would only have been no more than 10 which makes some of the stories somewhat awkward.

I used to try to figure out where she'd go with the story before she reached the end😁

They should make a Golden Girls prequel about Sophia’s adventures in Sicily. I mean they should have…30 years ago. Estelle Getty could have provided narration a la Wonder Years or How I Met Your Mother. The series could have ran from 1992-1999, and it would have been much better received than Golden Palace.
