​Join us online for a Placemaking Town Showcase featuring the inspiring work being done in Salisbury, Maryland. This free event brings together experts, city professionals, and advocates to share their innovative work in mobility, sustainability, gardens, event production and the arts, aiming to inspire and provoke thought within our national audience. It's a unique opportunity to learn from and share with peers by focusing on a special community in our constellation.

Event Highlights:
Edwin Linderkamp, Social Media Coordinator at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, will kick off the showcase with a 3-minute presentation on Salisbury, providing an overview of the city's comprehensive plan.
Will White, Transportation Manager for the City of Salisbury, will delve into the MoveSBY Mobility Masterplan during his 10-minute talk. He'll cover the city's approach to transportation, walkability, and safety, outlining the future of urban mobility in Salisbury.
Matthias Pieplak, a member of the City of Salisbury Sustainability Advisory Committee (Green Team), will share the team's successes in 2023 and their ambitious plans for 2024. His 10-minute presentation will highlight the city's efforts in sustainability and the special initiatives planned for Earth Month.
Nadine Brittingham, Events Coordinator for the City of Salisbury, will present the city's annual events, including the popular 3rd Friday gatherings and the Earth Month theme for April. Her 10-minute presentation will showcase how these events contribute to Salisbury's vibrant community life.
Susan Holt, retired Mosely Gallery Director at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Chairperson of the City of Salisbury Public Art Committee, will discuss the city's public art projects. In her 10-minute talk, she'll focus on the Memories of downtown documentation and the Bridge project mural, highlighting the role of public art in urban spaces.
Martin Hutchison, Pastor at Community of Joy Church, will share his experiences with community garden projects, including the Camden Community Garden and the Newton Community Center's garden. His 10-minute presentation will explore the impact of these gardens on community building and urban greening.
This showcase is an invitation to those working on or interested in various aspects of community-building to come together, enjoy the presentations, and share their thoughts and opinions. Whether you're a professional in the field or simply passionate about making cities better places to live, the Salisbury Placemaking Town Showcase promises to be an event full of learning, inspiration, and community spirit.
