Honest Short Review : It is good enough for smartphone. Volumes and everything . But It is not a Real headphone amp that consumes enormous Electricity. Tested with Etymotic EVO (47 Ohm) it is good enough anyway.

On the others Xperias it was good to see a jack but when you think of a audio jack you want the sound to be better in wired mode as it should be but it was not because it had a VERY RARE used purpose.Now with the mark VI they say it was improved instead of using a QUAD DAC as LG used a long time ago but maybe Sony made the jack usable and not just a HOLE in a smartphone for the sake of marketing because if it sounds well on earphones it can be treated as a feature witch is very important for Sony as it already has an exaggerated price.

Are there plans for a 5 VI??

Will the cooling be better in this generation? My current phone is the Xperia 1 IV, and it gets hot and sometimes lags when I play games.

I just bought a refurbished Xperia 1 V because of MicroSD Card support,I live in the united states and if I have to import it when I upgrade It I will because internal storage is expensive and costly and MicroSD is budget friendly and I feel it's better buy an expensive phone upfront and then let it slowly pay for itself when Storage upgrades cost way less than they would otherwise. I know it's a late hour but i've been largely on a budget and my mother she was buying me iPhones and I've just had it with the hardware choices being made by Apple, Samsung, and google. you're the last hold out left maintaining support for MicroSD on flagship phones and well- That's why i adopted you.

Doesn't have a DAC .... And thr headphone jack is tbh pointless for audio lovers

1 III user here. Sony is very bad for recording loud sound like shooting live performance, rock or electronic music concert. It's sound dirty and overloaded. It's okay for quiet music, like single piano or acoustic guitar. Even if you low down microphone volume in CinemaPro/VideoPro settings it's doesn't work as expected - lowering sensitivity of mic, it's work like lower the output volume at timeline in videoedtior. Situation it's a bit better when you use third-party app like mcpro24fps. It's sounds very clipping. Funny: My 2017 XZ1 records this better than 1 III, 2016 old action cam x3000 performs better than 2021 smartphone. Any iPhone and other brand works better than 1 III in that use case. Am scared of quality and price of 1 VI.
