We had one of these old Dodge trucks on the farm. It was a flatbed and had a four on the floor with dual low. We could put it in the lowest gear and send it across the hayfield with no driver while we tossed the bales on the truck bed. That old truck would run when our other vehicles crapped out. Drove it to high school in town several times, but had to park on a slope because of our perpetual low battery. Roll down the slope and pop the clutch and you were running. Vehicles today are too complicated.

Cool revived old truck, after a few more replacements, she just might be able to go for a drive! Congats to you and your father, great team! 👏

Next time you can try squirting some engine oil in the cylinders, that will help a lot with compression. I've done that a few times

remember back in the day in the 60s my Grandfather used to reuse those copper head gaskets and he would always use heavy grease a lite coat on both side of them before he would re install them . And they never leaked ......he was a farmer and did all his fixes and builds himself I just got a Austin A40 1953 Somerset barn find running after it sat in the back of a barn since 1965 when the owners Dad parked it after the mother died of breast cancer in 1966....the son said nobody ever did see if it would run and it sat under a canvas cover . It runs real good and will soon be back on the road . Still had the 1965 plates on it

Oh, boy! Your video series more than deserves at least a 3rd part. Unlike Hollywood with their endless sequels and pointless remakes, the story YOU are telling demands a happy ending! Hopefully, a water pump and some used tires can be found to get this little truck driving on the road again! I know it's VERY hard for you two to stand out in the Arizona sun and work on this; I did plenty of work out in Glendale and can relate to Arizona sun, that's for sure. I appreciate the EXCELLENT lighting once again; your lighting and camera angles make me WANT to really take a good, close look at what you're doing. Mahalo for another superb video about perseverance. Aloha and take care.

You did It!! Sounds great. My first car was a 1947 Plymouth club coupe and the motor looked just like that one. It had a rod knock so we dropped the pan and took a couple of shims out of each rod cap. It ran and drove great. Love them Mopars.

@user-mk7xv3ql5p
@user-mk7xv3ql5p Год назад
@arlie3334:• Thank you. The most basics problem. Is the humidity that has taken it's toll on all of the engine's running part. Together with the rusted surface areas. Lkie the piston rings the sleeves themselves. But as soon as those areas have absorbed the oil. That's when the engine begins to start after 20 or 30 years without lubrication. Thanks again for your comment. It also goes to show. We have to be patient with these old parked dinasours slowly rusting away. Now you have a daily driver. Who knew it would turn out like it did for you. 👍👍.

Runs like a sewing machine. Well I was the best compliment those old boys used to give guys like my dad he would get their Flathead 6 is an dates running for them. You got paid really well. A burrito I'm sure tasted really good. The satisfaction of resurrecting this old Dodge from the dead. Also I believe his name is Joe he gave you a hug and he's wiping his eyes. That's a great payday. I hope that you don't mind me taking the liberty of me playing cheerleader on my other comment encouraging people to subscribe. I've done for other channels a couple of times in the past. Each comment was worded differently and they helped. But if you think it's too much and over-the-top and isn't to your liking just take it off no harm no foul

if you run diesel in her when she is warmed up, diesel gas 50/50 it will really clean up that valve train, had a stuck valve on an old 50's hemi, she knocked and knackered I poured diesel down the carb as she ran after about 10 minutes she began to loosen up, I ran the tank 80/20 and after the tank she was quiet as can be, no smoke no nothing, ranlikea top after a tune up, this was in benton city wa in teh 70s, some old boy came by in his tractor and took a listen, he said run someo diesel thru her it might loosen up that stuck valve, hale I didn't even know what was making the noise, sure as shyt it worked..I saw him again on his tractor he just smiled, blocked the cops for me on an irrigation ditch road.. lololololo good ol boy, I heard later he told the cops sorry boys the rear end froze up can ya give us a tug? cop had to drive all the way around, I was gone, apparently he had ran some mash in his younger days?
