Listen to what they’re telling you, there’s going to come a time when the public are shouting from the rooftops because they’ll feel they’ve been deceived, misinformed, when all along you haven’t, you’ve just been asleep, dreaming of the times when honourable ladies and gentlemen of the house meant something, we’re llloooooonnnnnngggggggggg since past those days.
The problem is the alleged use of inside information for private gain, something which Tories have done forever, just not via Ladbrokes or William Hill. Betting on something that you don't have inside info on, like the 2:30 at Aintree, shouldn't be a problem. The Labour MP placed a bet on his own defeat, before campaigning got started.
They have turned around the economy. Between the 2008 banking crash and 2010 election, we had strong economic growth. They've really turned that around

Vote em out!!!!!
@@stevec6427 In 2010 the Tories ushered in austerity, as a political choice. It's was not an inevitable or necessary burden that a country had to bear. What it achieved was under-resourced services and a general decline resulting from chronic, systematic lack of investment. Local councils have been crippled and in many places their budgets halved. Services literally stripped to the bone. Pitting the people of this country against each other and going to war with the most vulnerable in society and some how convincing many, they were the reason the country was failing!! All the while overseeing the largest transfer of wealth in history from the people of this country, selling the remaining silverware to the lowest bidder and allowing UK companies to be sold into foreign hands. The Tories must never be anywhere government again.
I don't see any need to ban sports betting, having a flutter at Aintree doesn't reek of corruption. The Ministerial code covers Trading, whether they take a blind bit of notice of it is another matter.
You can not ban people from gambling. There is no need for it anyway, we have laws in place that should be enough of a deterrent. The people who have been caught will lose their jobs and probably be fined and or imprisoned.
It's just tories doing what tories always do. They probably didn't even see it as wrong until the scandal blew up, it's just how the world works in their eyes. One rule for me and another for thee.
Mate. They still don’t see it as wrong. It took them 2 weeks to suspend them. They genuinely don’t understand that they’re in the wrong. They’re just going through the motions of pretending that they’re remorseful because everyone is angry at them. They see that they’re being yelled at but cannot comprehend why so they’re just going through the ‘correct’ motions.
Just as bad. I can’t even figure out where labour stand. Everytime he’s asked a question that I care about he blatantly avoids answering it. Political system is corrupt and broken.
Does "gambling" include MPs with shares in companies they pass laws to promote their products like covid vaccines , construction materials , PPE , oil gas electricity and Infosys ?
How about adjusting their Moral Compass , and follow the Laws and Rules already in place . They have , it appears , broken the Law , why would they abide with any another Law brought in ?
I cannot bear to listen to the whole interview but if the headline accurately reflects his remarks (why would I have doubts about the accuracy of a journalists headline, you might wonder), then I want to comment on it. The idea that every display of poor judgement, ineptitude, lack of self-awareness, lack of the right qualities should be dealt with by more legislation and more bans is the antithesis of all I stand for. If political parties or business or the media or quangos do not want to be embarrassed by criminal, irresponsible or embarrassing actions by their staff then recruit proper people to start with. What we have seen in these betting disclosures is the result of recruitment by the Tories of immature entitled people into government and politics. Other parties are just as bad. The candidates they chose are selected on the basis of agreeing with the current leader's views (hence the number of liberal democrats put on candidate lists by Cameron) whereas more thoughtful people are driven away from participation in party politics. Why would anyone of substance want to be involved with the trivial nature of Westminster parties? They cannot even agree on their policies during an election campaign. They think evasion and yah-boo answers are a suitable way of showing us their electability.
So no to laws that improve the air quality for our children, or help secure the future of the planet, but yes to laws that stop themselves from being able to cheat because they know they are corrupt at heart.
Tories being the party of Tax cuts? This isn't true all taxes are going up because of frozen thresholds, the NI cut affects upper middle income households if your a Pensioner or lo paid your tax is going up substantially. Turned round the economy? Also not true CPI inflation is at 2% but it's a rolling average and will start to rise again next month AND CPIH (housing) is still at 2.8 so no rate cut on the horizon and OOH is at 6.7% (Owner occupiers) Put simply you can't tax cut your way out of recession and stagnation
Blue Blairites they are the party of high taxes, Wokery, lockdown and open boarders. They market themselves as reducing migrants. Not only have they continued the Blairite policy of open boarders they have broken every record set by labour then even chartering flights and sending the air force to collect more migrants to bring to the UK.
Betting against yourself may be rather wierd but its nott illegal, however using inside information is a criminal offence under section 42 of the Gambling Act 2005 and carries a penalty of up to 2 years in prison.....
they are treating their position in politics as a joke instead of being their for the people in this country which is their job kick them out they are not wanted save the money they get paid and give it back to the people of this country
Honesty integrity and ability……any Party whose politicians displayed these qualities would be 90% of the way towards securing my vote - suspect I’m not alone
You can influence the outcome if you bet AGAINST yourself. It is quite easy to throw an election campaign ensuring you lose it. Betting ON yourself means you'll have to campaign in order to win it, which is their job. One is betting on your own confidence, the other can be seen as an attempt to swindle some easy money from a bookies.
When they say it was right to do the internal investigation before Suspending, my question would be do you think kier starmer was too quick to suspend the Labour mp?
There should be a ban on the terribly adictive on-line gambling that ruins lives and the tories made the gambling companies able to collect debts from their victims -well, how iconic this is even if they did not bet on line. Maybe if they all became gambling addicts they would take a different attitude to gambling to that which they have now.
What is far more concerning is the con mp attempting to stomp on our constitution , by taking away our right to record public servants , it is a necessity to keep those in the public sector accountable and transparent in their actions ,ensuring the publics well being and that they are treated fairly and justly .
That will continue under Labour, if anything it's going to increase as they will have Galloways "Workers party" reform and groups like The Muslim Vote to compete with. Such groups could threaten the uniparty especially when they organise people against the political class. Expect more political prisoners in the UK
@@EvenBigger-Brotherwhat party line? What I wrote was against the LabCon uniparty. I mentioned the third parties because the discourse will be shaped by their respective results I agree with you. Assuming #ZEROSEATS wipes out the Blue Blairites the opposition could be different to what we normally see, expect the establishment to retaliate though
Sunak has been running a sort of book in No 10 for months. Am sure all his aunts and uncles and cousins etc etc have bet on that date. Just find one of them and the house will crash.
Quite right too. When you have the over leveraged Press on your side and oligarchs pulling their investments out of the Economy, then only "gambles" that are as near certainties as possible are permissable.
