‘Bad news’: Monthly inflation rise has ‘big implications’ for the RBA

Judo Bank Economic Adviser Warren Hogan says the recent monthly inflation data is “bad news” for Australia’s economy.
Monthly inflation has risen to 4 per cent from 3.6 per cent.
Mr Hogan told Sky News Australia that the data has “big implications” for the RBA and interest rates.

I’m not surprised at all. Every other week we still get suppliers increasing prices. Plus come July, wages and super increases. Guess what’s next, we got to increase our prices for consumers so the business can survive. Round and round we go. There is no future in hospitality 😢

We are the ONLY G10 country where inflation has risen in past 6 months. There is something not quite right in AUS, all these increases are domestic related and nothing to do with global issues, a lot of price gouging is taking place and for what other reason other than greed and profit.

It's not the RBA's fault. They are simply doing their job. It's because the Labor Party pumped too much money into the economy with all their spending. Over $200b additional spending compared to last year. Plus the electricity / gas grid is a mess. The more they push renewables into the grid, the higher the cost..

As a small business person i can say we are in a recession. My figures have never been so bad. But there is so much manipulation at the top end that a cloak is held over people eyes. This means we are going to hit the ground very hard.

Timing is perfect for the tax cuts… the shame is that prices have gone north in anticipation of what we don’t already have. Electricity prices weren’t mentioned but the reduction as a result of the budget gift back has already been factored into increases. Fantastic that the money was given directly to the suppliers. Rort at best.

As geo-political drives the change of costs, there is little the interest rate can do. Increasing the rate will increase the living cost. If you think the inflation can be controlled by increasing the rate. I think you are not fool but evil.
