Victims are not going to feel safe and comfortable to come forward, knowing their rapist is out on bond, living free, and could potentially track them down and harm them due to retaliation. Also, the likelihood that he will harm additional women while he’s out on bond, is sky high. And a trial can take several years, and rape cases are always difficult to prosecute, so can you imagine how agonizing it is to have your rapist out on bond while he awaits a trial that can take several years to come to fruition?!
