What "justice"? The boy has a name now, but there was and is no justice in his death. Even if they caught the killer today, he or she still got to live a full life after taking the boy's.

@@pricklypear7516 There will never be full justice for Joseph. It's more than likely that the perpetrator is deceased, but having an identity back and a name for his headstone is something. It's a start. Once they determine who the perpetrator WAS, the case can be closed, even if we never see comeuppance.

Yes, the Lady of the Dunes has also been given her identity back as well. While there is not a lot of justice yet, it's good to give the victims their names back.

Well, investigators confirmed who he was. However, it is unknown who killed him and who disposed of his corpse.

@@proudatheist2042 My best guess is that whoever was his parent or guardian and the fact he wasn't declared missing or claimed by loving parents was who killed him. It's too bad they seem to have escaped the justice they deserved. I wish they could figure it out somehow. Poor sweet little child.💔

65 years is close to the human life expectancy, if it was someone in their 20s that did the killing they might be alive, if it was someone much older then they're long gone now

Well the killer could have living relatives, if theyve been told their deceased grandfather or grandmother was a good person and ended up being the perpetrator here turn im sure the relatives of victim AND killer want to know

Naming the perpetrator is one thing, and may help Joseph's family find some closure ..assuming he was indeed reported missing in 1957? But still it will be no justice for Joseph if noone's serving time for this terrible crime.

I think Boulder PD has inexplicably refused to allow the genealogy sleuths access to the DNA samples, so they cannot do the genealogy backtracking to trace the unknown male DNA that was left on JonBenet's body. That's how they know it wasn't her dad nor her brother (who was 9 yrs old at the time anyhow, extremely unlikely there.) I think her dad has offered to pay for the process but Boulder PD and/or DA office won't budge. So it's definitely not about limited financial resources... I'm not big into conspiracies normally, but I do think they (Boulder PD & dist atty) may not wish it solved by the genetic investigators because if they come up w/the killer, it will undeniably expose once and for all just how ineptly the whole case was handled from literally the day of the murder. Imagine how badly bungled it was--they had the FATHER OF THE MISSING GIRL search the basement; he's the one who found her dead body!! Any idiot who watches Law & Order knows that's all kinds of wrong!! Presumably her dad touched her and disturbed some evidence. It went downhill from there. Absolute incompetence. Wealthy enclaves like Boulder that don't see much violent crime always seem to have a podunk police force that is in way over its head when some horrific murder occurs. They should've called in the pros from the get go. This was a 6 year old baby girl. So heartbreaking. RIP JonBenet, someday you & your family will get justice...

I've been dying to know who killed Jonbenet. Since this genealogy has been greatly helping solve these cold cases , they need to test the DNA found under her fingernails of the unknown male. It's so frustrating 25 years later they still don't know a name for the one or ones responsible. It's a shame really. She deserves justice just like all of the others. Glad Joseph has his name back but someone has to be tied to this but they may be dead. Either way. RIP to both of them 🙏

If he was given up for adoption as a baby, then it’s very easy for family or friends to not know or not ask questions. It was the 1950s, he could easily have been an illegitimate child born out of wedlock and given to someone else to raise. Plenty of big families have things like this.

Actually its unlikely, it was 65 years ago and if an adult did it their in their mid 80s at minimum, but likely perpetrator is dead

The parents, while definitely suspects, may have also given him up for adoption at birth (as was common at the time for certain reasons such as wedlock, illegitimate, etc) and lost all contacy with him and his adoptive family tortured him
