The most memorable storylines for me were Kayla and Patch's romance and wedding in the 80s, Wayne Northrop's return in 1991, and the Melaswen storyline (which brought me back to the show after many years away)

My mother and her mother watched it when it started, my mother hooked my grandfather on it when he had a heart attack and had to retire, then my grandfather hooked me on it.
They really need to release past seasons on disc. With the capacity optical discs they could easily fit a month's worth of episodes on a single disc. They might not sell millions of sets, but they would monetize assets they they currently make $0 off of, turn a profit and make lots of fans really happy. They wouldn't even need to spend anything in advertising. Just cut 30 seconds of content and advertise them at the end of the show every day. Run a small facebook campaign. They would sell themselves.
DAVID veilleux The show has been going on since the 60s. Where would they start? I don’t think many viewers would buy over 40 years worth of a soap opera to try to catch up on it. That would be way too much money for the viewer and the studio.
@@amead78 You'd be surprised mate. lol I actually think if they wanted to they could sell all 40 or 50 years worth in one collection box and charge like between $40 to $80 bucks for it and be good. That to me would be reasonable enough. I am not a soap opera person myself, but I would buy it for the 80's time period only because it would take me back in time to when I was a kid and it was one of the shows that played when I was out of school for the summer at my grandparents house. I'd do it. I'd buy it merely to try and recapture those moments in my head. Grandma did like her soaps. Lmao!!!!😎
I love days. Love deidra hall shes amazing. Love lauren and Kristian. They are all so great and amazing. Deidra hall is absolutely a loving legend and a very big inspiration of days. Loved her since she was possessed. Love her even more now.
I started watching this in 1986 when Bo and Hope was getting married in Stockholm. I thought that was a good storyline. Also this is when Steve Johnson came to Salem.
+Teri Hiatt I started watching this show, since I was 12-years-old, and that's when I first noticed Stefano Dimera and Fall In Love With Him, and I still love him to this very day, I've always admired him, I find him to be, handsome, dashing, wonderful, charming, charismatic, cagy, crafty, also so mysterious, villainess, and brilliant, also He's got the heart of a Handsome Prince riding on a beautiful white stallion, that's riding toward a tower to rescue his one true love (me of course), that's guarded by a fire-breathing dragon, once he killed the dragon, he rushes up the long staircase, breaks into the room, he see's her laying in a bed, behind a veil, he walks up toward the bed, he moves the veil, he see's her sleeping, I can't say what happens next, because as the old saying goes, "kiss 'N' Tell", Also I hope that someday I'll get a chance to meet Joe Mascolo in person, also in case anyone believes in reincarnations, I still Firmly Believe that me and Joe Mascolo might've been married in another life and we might've had a daughter in the same life too.

My Wife is the fan at our house but,I admire these guys for how hard they work week,after week but yet they don't get enough recognition.That seems to happen way too much in the entertainment industry.
+Twilight Symphony my favourite soap is the Australian soap Prisoner Cell Block H which has crazy storylines just like Days Of Our Lives does (even though DOOL is American)

I hope you got that chance of meeting him because sadly he passed away around 2 months ago as you're probably aware. I was a big fan of his to even though I wasn't a fan of days, but when he died it's like a part of childhood died as well. I use to sit there and watch the show with my mom & aunty and didn't have a clue what was going on but I remembered him through out my childhood and growing up. The guy was the one and only boss, may his soul rest in peace..
In these modern days, it would be better for Patch to get a new eye and not have to wear the patch any more, especially since his wife is a Dr and could get a donor easier than most.
