Right?! I thought I was being harsh when I thought, "She looks like Dad on laundry day." I'm glad I'm not the only one cringing at the wardrobe selection.
Her husband judged her qualifier and she's the head of the governing body of Aus breakdance SHE CREATED and this is an example of "Truth is stranger than fiction". Explains everything.
The fact that she said when she recovers she'll "be writing about it" was all I needed to hear to understand what was going on here. When I did, it sobered me up pretty quickly because before that I've been laughing so hard I couldn't breathe.
Nepotism and access garnered her the spot. It's priceless, especially at a time when the world is scrutinizing how easy some people in our society have access without proper experience or training. Clout gave her the opportunity and then her ties tried to spin the back story as if she needed defending. She scored 0000's. People rightfully argued why weren't more communities included in this sport. You send your best to the Olympics. Everyone else participates at the social level, in town.
I’m not Australian, but I am a woman. If I fucking suck at something I certainly hope people have enough respect for me to tell me I’m terrible. I mean how incredibly patronizing. “It’s fine if she’s bad, she’s a girl so it’s okay.” Like, what??
There should be a criminal investigation opened up on how her husband was the judge that got her into the Olympics and subsequently denied actual skilled breakdancers from ever being able to compete there again!
As olimpiadas tiraram sim a oportunidade de vários atletas competentes de participar, aqueles que jogam Futebol de Salão, Futebol de areia, Jiu Jitsu, Karatê, Beisebol. Isso aí é uma dança de rua, não um esporte.
She did qualify for the team, did she not? Take a chill pill, you don't understand the sheer joy she brought to the average viewer......who all figured they could have done that!!
The reason they didn't get that chance is because "Breaking" is actually a sport developed and Sponsored by the International Ballroom Dancing Federation, which it did because it failed to get Ballroom Dancing in the Olympics. So it is only represented by associations affiliated with that Federation. The International Competitive Breakdancing scene is NOT represented by them, so most legitimate breakdancers were never given the change to qualify. Gunn, who was a ballroom dancer, founded the Australian chapter of the federation in 2019, obviously to get to the Olympics and exploit the 15 minutes of fame.
Exactly. A hint of corruption lies within the Australian Olympic management, it's so blatant she got through with connections and then to perform a smack -to -head performance to the talent wanting to go. A pathetic shambles.

@mikec695 so you are telling me that there was no single B-girl that was better than her. Not even ONE. It's either the judges that were terribly wrong or corrupted or Australia has not even one talented B-girl. I highly doubt the latter.
It involves a athletic kinesthetic intelligence that takes years to master and requires a person to be in excellent mental and physical condition to be able to perform the moves the most precise to the timing of the beat. I don't know what happened here but it needs to be investigated.

The Olympics in France were a disgrace in terms of culture, civilization, sport and organization. It is the worst, most humiliating Olympics in history.
The only reason she got zero is because the rules didn’t allow the judges to give her a negative score. That was a colossal embarrassment that made a mockery of the event. She pretty much single-handedly ensured that breakdancing will never appear in the Olympics again.
EXACTLY. She destroyed the sport she pretends to love and made it a joke on a global scale. If it was unintentional, she shouldn't have been there in the first place. If it was intentional, she is genuinely an evil human being.
The Olympic judges gave her 0 votes. Aussies on their couches gave her 0 votes. The world gave her 0 votes. Yet we are all been labelled for commenting that this individual had no talent in break dancing, when the only thing that is apparent is that we all witnessed vicarious embarrassment.

I've seen far better on "So You Think You Can Dance" over many seasons -- the least of those competitors was 100 times better than Raygun.
She's literally gaslighting everyone by calling her painful-to-watch performance "misinformation" - telling us what we saw with our own eyes just ain't true.

No because the burden of performance is on men and only men. Nobody really cares about womens sports, even when their good at it. People want to see the absolute elite perform and thats never women. This "might" sound lime misoginy but its in fact reality. Nobody cares about the wnba, nobody cares about female soccer, nobody cares about female hockey. 100%. Why did Australia even allow this? She made a mockery of the spirit of competition for athletes who have worked hard for 4 years to be there. What an embarrassment for the country.
I feel embarrassed for the whole of Australia. I’m a woman and agree. It’s a disservice to women who actually experience misogynistic behavior to hear that term apply every time any woman is criticized.
Yep she single handedly embarrassed a whole nation all by herself and what's more she thinks she's the victim. What she is, is an entitled brat who thinks that she's amazing when in actual fact she sucks. Australia did absolutely amazing in this Olympics and as far as I'm concerned she destroyed it for our athletes too.
What’s ludicrous is that she’s defending herself and others are coming to her aid. The three judges gave her zero each so that’s the end of discussion in my mind. She’s not brave, she’s crap…
Well you know the old story, what happens at the Olympics is one thing. But what happens after, we'll just have to wait & see. I have feeling an apology will be on offer. From the massive backlash.
You have to admit, it takes a certain form of character, though, to survive this. I mean : I would have died of shame on the spot (I wouldn't have let anyone put me in that spot in the first place). She still could earn respect and a medal for bravery (or my compassion at least) *if* she'd come clean with how this disaster happened.
"Raygun" whining how "devastated" she is at what people are saying isn't taking into account how devastated fans, true break dancing fans, were to have to endure this. At first it appeared to be a comedy sketch, a joke. How far the IOC has fallen. I wanted to love it but ended up feeling conned.

Well, how did she get selected to the Olympic team? Shouldnt the Australian Olympic Council (whatever they are called) be called out to explain this national embarrassment?
She's protesting. These arts are represented by an organization unqualified to "meter" performance that's rebellious at it's roots of inception, at birth. But here the Olympics are, spitting in our faces while unqualified to even judge our protest or art. They're putting rules on it. Breaking is a PROTEST NOT A SPORT AND SHE SOLIDIFIED THAT ON PURPOSE.
