Yes I did in this particular example. I guess it’s a great rhythm to practice for beginner Cajón players. If you want to try out or practice some more complex and advanced rhythmic patterns, feel free to add some variations to the groove or check out some of the other shorts on my channel! It was one of my very first short videos on a pretty basic groove sequence, but you’ll find ton’s of other examples on my channel’s Shorts section. There’s plenty of rhythmic patterns that perfectly fit to a huge variety of well-known song samples and incorporate different playing techniques. Have fun practicing and don’t hesitate to let me know if you need further advice on one of these! 🥁
@@cajondrum Thank you so much for replying. It's a great example. As a matter of fact I started practicing it yesterday and it really sounds great. I want to play it with my nephews because they play this song on acoustic guitar and I want to join them. The only thing I was wondering was if there was any break to be played during the song, but now that you say I can figure out any variation I will try to find one. Thank you so much! ✌️
For the intro I recommend experimenting with tip stroke variations like Don Henley does in the original by playing some basic Hi-Hat/Cymbal combs in order to emphasize the guitar solo part. When it comes to the refrain/chorus section of the song, there is a bunch of Fill-In’s which will add some uniqueness to the basic rhythmic pattern and build up some tension. (I’d start adding these as soon as you start getting comfortable playing just the basic groove) There’s a breakdown of the main groove with the start of the fifth verse (“Mirrors on the Ceiling, The Pink Champagne on Ice […]) where I’d go for tip stroke variations like in the intro part. This short breakdown lasts just for this verse and end’s with the beginning of Verse 6! (“Last thing I remember, I was running for the door […]) Have a good one! Glad to help! 🤘🏼🎼
