Not sure if Troy is aware of this , I’m an English guy living in Perth Australia and there is a local band called The Deenys very good band and all from the British Isles originally, they have a song called Last Minute Winner which samples the commentary from Troy scoring for Watford against Leicester . They are touring England in June for the first time in small venues one of which in my home city of Hull
Troy Deeney popping up again. Can't believe he's got the gall to show his face after his behaviour at Forest Green. True narcissistic delusions of grandeur.
It was alright until he said I think my goal is up there with Aguero's. I often think where was I was Deeney scored that goal against Leicester rather than Beckham's free kick against Greece or Rooney's overhead kick.
As a moment, given, the dive, the peno save, the counter and the volley. As a moment, I would rank it higher them 2 goals, but I’m not English or a utd fan so I don’t actually hold the Rooney goal in high regard (he shined it) Beckham was special but so was the watford moment
@@lp5670in terms of drama maybe more than Rooney’s but not Beckham’s vs Greece. Deeney basically just scored into an open net. Even though Rooney shined it he shined it right into the top corner; arguably harder than if you got a clean connection
@@astalavista_84 I was 4 when Beckham scored that goal, so I don’t have a connection to it, but fair enough, maybe my opinion isn’t as valid on that. I absolutely do not think shinning a goal is more difficult, it just adds an element of luck. The Rooney goal is better as a goal, but there was 15 minutes left, there would have been another chance, I personally believe the drama of the dive, the peno save, the counter and the volley makes that the better “moment” but football is subjective
Troy has come across as a totally different person on the podcast to what I’ve seen in the football world. Fair play to him, changed my opinion, all the best Troy! 👍
Brilliant episode once again lads. 2013 was also the year my team (DRFC) scored a 93rd minute breakaway goal from a missed penalty which gave us the league one title from Bournemouth and dumped Brentford into the playoffs. I wonder what happened to them !
So i was about 16 in Australia supporting Leicester on the brink of thinking i'm finally going to be able to watch them on tv and troy did that.. It's probably one and only time that i've sunk to my knees in absolute despair.
@HuwEvans. I am serious. Why not? I think those things are true. I'm not disputing that Harry Kane is considerably the better player, but Deeney was relatively decent. I don't get why and how people seem to think Deeney is 'rubbish.'
I know the word legend is often used far too often but come on, when someone of the caliber (and no disrespect) of Chris Stark’s standing is classed as a Watford legend, the term has surely lost all it’s credibility?
@@chrishealey5098 Surely that doesn’t make you a legend though? Elton John I’d give but because of what he’s done throughout his life but being a co-host on the radio & supporting a football team hardly warrants being tagged as a legend, does it?
If you’re being genuine it was the play off semi final, Leicester vs watford, Antony knockheart dived to get a penalty for Leicester in the last minute, penalty is saved by almunia, counter attack, volley from deeney. This fella gets a lot of shit but it’s one of the best moment in playoff history
