The person who killed all these innocent students was armed and wasn’t very polite. Students shouldn’t need to carry weapons to feel safe, and if you think that’s solving the problem - you’re the problem.

The world was never safe. People today live on average, longer lives, than at any time in recorded human history. So even though we hear reports of these travesties that we all hope would never happen, this is still the safest time to be alive.

Oh, did people feel safe in the world before? Like during the Roman Empire when things were peachy keen? Or like when the Aztec empire did human sacrifices? Or when Genghis Khan went wilding? Or when slaves were taken all over the earth? Like during WW2 perhaps? Or during the Rwanda genocide? Or the Armenian one? Or Vietnam? Or in Ukraine? Or during the Chinese revolution? The French Revolution? Or during the wars and floods and famines and that have shaken the earth since day one? You mean to say that everybody has always felt safe until now? Since nobody ever died in a car crash or from cancer or heart attacks? Earth is a very NOT safe place. Nobody should feel safe, ever.

The Czech Republic has quite a heavy gun culture. Courthouses have dedicated locker rooms for conceal carry pistols to be stored before entering the offices. Police stations have bullet trap stations for citizens to practice dry firing into. Any person who immigrates to CR from a NATO country can apply for the same gun rights as Czech citizens. Everyone is afraid, armed or not, because the country hasn't seen anything quite like this before. In America, we're used to it.

False. The Austin, Tampa, Jacksonville, Fargo, Allen, Cleveland, and Dadeville shootings all happened outside of gun-free zones in states that have bare minimum gun control laws. That's just for this year alone. Edit: Forgot to mention the Pine Hills shooting. Edit 2: Multiple people were shot dead today in Ocala, Fl inside a shopping mall.

You can at the very least open carry inside Dollar Generals across the country The Fargo shooting happened on a public street - There are no laws in North Dakota against carrying firearms on a public road. The Allen shooting happened inside a shopping mall. Very unlikely that there were any rules against carrying firearms on the property because it's Texas. The Cleveland shooting happened in a residential area outside of a school zone. The Dadeville shooting happened at a dance studio - Alabama, nuff said The Pine Hills shooting happened in a residential area outside of a school zone. There are no laws in Florida against carrying firearms in a residential area. And the Ocala shooting happened in a shopping mall. Very unlikely that there were any rules against open carry on the property because it's Florida. These are not gun-free zones. These are all places that you would at least be allowed to open-carry a firearm as long as you are lawfully present without the intent to commit a crime.

A gun free zone is no good when you're surrounded by a sea of guns. Now if the gun free or nearly gun free 'zone' is a whole country then you are indeed much safer.

You would have to reopen them first. All of them were shut down, at least here in America. You still have the psych ward in hospitals, and maaaaybe a mental health clinic in your area if you’re lucky. That averages to 4,000 killed per day. I'll take the US average any day of the week.

Heart disease, obesity, and diabetes are far more of a threat, or a million other things. Most "mass shootings" that occur have nothing to do with a crazed individual, they are almost always crime (as in, drug trafficking, robbery, crime of passion, etc) related. The vast majority of gun deaths occur in cities, in high crime areas. Number of guns have nothing to do with anything, as has been proven many many times. Making gun laws strict doesn't affect the systemic problems that drive the issues.
