All their credibility have taken a huge hit. They were so confidant and then this happened. It will be so hilarious watching them try to spin it in order to save face. In the end no body except the player knows where he is going or what he is doing. Kawhi single handedly hurt four peoples reputations and trust while also stunning and demoralizing two other franchises.

It needs context. He's only a "genius" in a very unfavorably way, meaning he played mean the Lakers, and perhaps Toronto as well. That's not right, no matter who you are. I don't blame the Lakers for risking it on Kawhi, (I'm seriously considering calling him "No. 2" as well), but now people know better than to trust Kawhi. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for all the San Antonio situation, now now a pattern is starting to emerge.

He wanted to go to the Lakers but it didn't pan put. Them signing AD, loud mouth Magic, and then not having anything left over for a bench had he gone is what made it easy for him. Toronto shot themselves in the foot with all the creeping bs, and then the Clippers being able to get PG is what sealed the deal.

I'm a Lakers fan but I'm not disappointed at all. More or less he's making the league more competitive and more fun to watch. Most people are tired of seeing teams like Golden state create these super teams and dominate. Now the championship is up for grabs for many more teams like 76'ers, Clippers, Lakers, Bucks, Nets, Rockets etc etc. I'm excited for next season!

Deyknw Lebron will average 10+ assists a game feeding those two down low. Everyone will sink in to the paint to double team which will free up all of the shooters they just picked up this off season. Alex Caruso, Troy Daniels, Quinn Cook, and Dany Green were all above 45% on catch and shoot 3-point percentage last year, they got some snipers.

It's better for everyone that Kawhi chose the Clippers over the Lakers. The league finally has an element of suspense instead of being a forgone conclusion. And now if Lebron wins a chip, haters won't be able to take anything away since the the Lakers aren't overly stacked as if they signed Kawhi. As much as I like Lebron, winning rings with AD and Kawhi wouldn't have felt right. Balance is restored.

I don't give Kawhi quite that much credit. I think for what the Clippers had to give up in order to get Paul George it was a bit of a long shot. I do agree that he wanted the Clippers from the start, I think he strung along the Lakers as a back-up plan just in case OKC didn't give in, not because he was trying to sabotage their offseason plans as much as possible.

The media's obsession with the Lakers is aggravating. They haven't been great since Jerry Buss died, but the media wants them to be good again so badly it's almost like they're trying to speak it into existence. As if this team deserves to be successful just by simply existing and doesn't have to earn it like every other team. They have the worst front office in the league, but every free agent should be dying to flock there to turn into them a superteam and a dynasty. Sports are a meritocracy, and in recent times the Lakers have not earned all the attention they get. They are the Dallas Cowboys of the NBA, but at least the Cowboys have won playoff games recently.

@@Xhoven 1st of all the worst front office in SPORTS not just the league is the NY Knicks....you can put the lakers 2nd if you like lol. 2nd of all the media's obsession with the lakers is simple. they are basketball royalty of sorts. they have been horrible in recent years(by laker standards) but its inevitable for them to turn it around and be great again. 3rd of all players always want to come to LA not always because of the lakers just because of the "mystique" of LA /Hollywood/nice weather etc. its just like the knicks if you get a superstar(s) player to save the knicks/recent lakers (and not so long ago the cavs)….you will forever be remembered and hailed in the league.

@@okkipooky8612 Okay so the Knicks' front office is probably worse. The Lakers have been an absolute joke under Jim/Jeanie though. Absolutely amazing how quickly they soiled their father's franchise. The Lakers had only missed the playoffs five times in 65 seasons before 2012, now they have missed the playoffs six straight years. They'll break that streak this season, but if they weren't such a popular free agent destination and landed LeBron who knows how long it would've lasted. The "NBA royalty" thing is what annoys me. Yes they have a storied history and I respect that. But the past is the past, and if the Lakers can't step up and be dominant and win championships, it's refreshing to watch other teams write new chapters in the history of the NBA (the Warriors are a great story after how awful they were in the 2000s). There are 29 other teams, after all. But to the media it's like it's the Lakers' world and everyone else is just living in it. The Lakers are indeed royalty and were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Just after Magic retires, they get the best player since MJ because he refused to play for any other team. The media was licking their chops because they thought Kawhi was going there which would almost ensure a championship, but he chose the better run organization in LA.

The league in general looks good West: Clippers, Lakers, Rockets, Utah, Denver, Mavs East: Bucks, Nets, Philly, Toronto (who know what moves they will do but the core is still there)

i always knew it was going to be the clippers, team is full of hardworking & humble dawgs. had an excellent season and the lowkey vibes from the team fits well for kawhi.

- Kawhi was a perfect fit for the Raptors too as it turned out. Wish he could've stayed in Toronto but I won't fault him for deciding to play closer to home. Still have much respect for Kawhi in the long run. :-)
