Still have never heard why they didn’t tunnel under themselves beforehand. One tunnel along the southern border with seismometers installed to monitor would have prevented the bad guys tunneling in.
The idea of Hamas being committed to destroying Israel is taken as being a threat is laughable. Dissident Republicans here in Northern Ireland are committed to ending British Rule; do you consider them an existential threat ?
i dont recall the republicans parading loyalist women and children through the streets, and dragging corpses through the streets, or taking toddlers as hostage. hamas livestreamed themselves commiting genocidal, house by house violence against civilians. thats a threat to be taken seriously
I feel bad for those of the Palestinians who want peace, and reject violence. Trouble seems to follow the Palestinians and the Jews wherever they go. I hope that the peace-loving Israelis and Palestinians can create a peace and hold it for centuries into the future.

Last Sunday Hamas attacked the humanitarian corridor Isreal has set up . Hamas are the genocidal ones . It is in their charter to destroy Israel, every Jew and infidel . It is far more likely that Hamas has killed many of the remaining hostages; in any case, HAMAS is ultimately responsible for their deaths, as HAMAS committed the war crime of taking hostages in the first place.
I don't appreciate the statement of "Netanyahu has no intention of ending the war". Every war must eventually come to an end and so does this one. So one real question is if Netanyahu intents to go so far as to completely wipe out Gaza and annex it. I don't think the size of Israel allows him to do so on his own and I'm pretty sure the US and/or other allies are not going to agree on something like it. So really this is an impossibility. That leaves only one possible alternative which is that Netanyahu simply want to put a more permanent, (or at least more costly to Hamas), solution to the very real Hamas issue that the world is facing. You can criticize him for that but you should also do you homework and thoroughly investigate the history of Hamas and the nature of their organisation. There is no denying that Hamas is a very very real issue to Israel and also to Gaza and the whole of Palestine. There has been no democracy in Gaza for a very long time which is entirely because of Hamas.
Netanyahu has no plan or intention to set up any government in Gaza other than Hamas. He refuses to work with the Palestinians Authority, or with any Palestinians whatsoever. He has said over and over that he opposes any political solution to the conflict. He wants endless war. His ideology is essentially fascist. He thinks that endless war is morally and spiritually good and that it strengthens the health of the nation.

Martyrdom is celebrated! Life requires war to once end. Netanyahu cares. Hamas does not. Clearly it is Hamas that has no intention of actually stopping the war, when they say they do they're really only buying some time. And of course you are enabling them. You are being a supporter of terrorism, you could just as well have been there, on Oct 7th, committing atrocities.
Better to continue the war than agreeing to exchange 1,000 prisoners for 1 Israeli, which put Israel at much more risk as one of the prisoners freed was Sinwar, and I'm sure there were many more implicated in Oct 7. Baskin can't be impartial as he was an integral part of that negotiation. And to imply that Oct 7 happened because Israel didn't have the proper military defenders there is just plain disgusting on his part.
First he ignores Oct 7, never an existential threat? Then he blames the victim. He then states that Netanyahu wants the war to last. He then ends with the assertion that this must end politically not militarily. Ignoring accountability and guarenteeing future conflict. He ignores that Hamas took the hostages as a shield for themselves. He ignores that Hamas hides behind Palestinians. His flawed reasoning offers no solution. Empty words that signify nothing.
If it is true that HAMAS is withholding Aid, then there still must be a large population of HAMAS still in Gaza. At this point, if Israel stops the efforts to eliminate HAMAS, will that terror group simply just rearm and repopulate it's members in Gaza, and continue the cycle of violence? If Israel stops it's war on HAMAS, then what was the point of ever starting it? What is the point of any country fighting terrorism, when people tend to forget the original crimes that were committed and point the finger at the victims and demonize them? Maybe that should be the new policy of all countries in the world including NATO. Just give up and hand over your lands and people to slavery, cruelty, and death.
