Palki Sharma has been a TV reporter and anchor for over two decades. She was the face of WION before she joined Network 18 as Managing Editor and is now building a team for a new venture. In an interesting conversation with Smita Prakash, she talks about her life, tackling trolls, breaking stereotypes and the challenges of International News. She opens up about her reasons for moving from WION and her plans for the next venture of the Network 18 Group. I work in a 'male majority' manufacturing industry with a very small female group.. imagine 6:1000 ratio.. and recently I came to know that our department is hiring female candidates.. and just the internal discussions going around before their interviews on 'which girl will sit besides whom?' made me uncomfortable and it was annoying. It's a good thing we will get female colleagues and possibly a new perspective to our work culture, but ye sab harkate dekh kr lag raha hai its better they don't come at all! I'm sorry.. but Palkiji is right, workplaces do have predators! Sometimes I'm also part of that crowd just to not feel isolated or that FOMO crap and now I'm feeling so ashamed after watching this interview🤐

I’m glad there’s someone who understands this issue. There are so many comments from men who are blaming her and saying she’s lying and that most men are good and women are asking for it. Bull shit. In my professional experience I have seen that women always get their way and are more privileged than men. Women get the shift of their choice where as men have and just have to come in whatever shift they are assigned to. Managers and team leads are lenient towards female errors and also sympathize with them more. Women easily get leaves. They come late. Leave early. But if man does that then action will be taken against him. Also women just like the ladies first rule only when it suits them.
