It appears you fell for the antics of the politicians in deploying propaganda to force their 'brand' of interpretation on the court. The court didn't uphold mandatory 25% in Abuja in the case of Buhari v Obasanjo. The Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal have been consistent in upholding Abuja as one of the States for the purpose of the Constitution.

On the one hand, he says he the Government of Rivers State should be given the benefit of doubt when it stated that it would provide a suitable venue for the House to sit while the "renovation" exercise is going on... Conversely, he states that there is a Supreme Court decision declaring as void any sitting of the House conducted outside the official House of Assembly complex. This clearly shows that the Governor Fubara demolished the complex to establish an alibi, so as to justify the circumvention of the Supreme Court Judgment and ensure that he is in full control of the how, when and most importantly, WHERE the remaining 4 members of the House would meet for the forceeable future. Falana should be able to boldly draw this simple inference rather than sit on the fence as he did in this interview.

There is a big issue and clear injustices in this country not only in Rivers state. We must becareful that we don't set this country ablaze by abuse of power. Why should a building or house of assembly which has been standing b4 now suddenly bombed because an impeachment was to be conducted and thereafter the same building is pulled down and no-one sense rat? Their is a thing called separation of powers. Three different arms of government independent and separate from each other. Mr Falana failed to acknowledge that the house has suspended those four members before now but he now recognize the recent one. What about the two previous court injunction before today's own? How can a suspended member can now be recognized as the speaker of the house?
A member might be suspended for some reason but suspension is not defection. Defection is different from suspension. I company worker might be suspended for some reason and still be an employee of the company pending the outcome of the events leading to the suspension and as a result could still receive salary but an employee that resigns is entitled to nothing .the law makers by their action resigned their position and as a result they are no more
The defection didn’t take place in law because the speaker is Edison Ehie and no member has written to him about defecting from PDP to APC. Second, the meeting of the members was illegal because it took place in contravention of a court order forbidding both sides from sitting. Third, the place where the sitting took place is not an approved place since the governor has approved a new location for the house to conduct its business after the fire incident of 30 Oct.
