I think Sarah Vine forgot that she was meant to INTERVIEW the panelists. She took over each conversation. Jo Elvin always has the right balance, in my opinion.
@@EveHoward631thank goodness he is a normal child He is still a little boy. I had children I don’t see that he gets away with anything He is learning. What do you expect a robot? I think he is delightful
Jo Elvin, you were missed! Thank you for not talking over your guests and for listening while they speak, without interrupting. Perhaps you could do a master class for those stepping in for you when you are away! Come back soon!
As an American tax payer, I am deeply offended that such controversial private citizens, like H & M, would dare to ask to hitch a ride with the President on AF1. Their nerve knows no boundaries and Americans are tired of their repulsive behavior. Their self righteous arrogance has gone too far for an intellectually challenged prince and a D list actress who married her way to fame. I am deeply sorry for the pain they have caused the royal family. It is malicious and inexcusable! 🇺🇸❤🇬🇧
I agree 100%. I am Canadian but the wind was knocked out of my sails when I heard they were thumbing a ride with AF1. How daft and disrespectful (not to mention arrogant) can two people be?
Agree... she seemed a bit against the Royal Family... critical of Prince and Princess of Wales parenting and preparing THEIR children for the roles they will be expected to fill as they grow. I did not enjoy watching her. Maybe a fill in should not appear to be anti monarchy????
a bit rude, I love listening to Rebecca and Richards comments, but am not use to them being interrupted like that - Jo doesn't seem to do that - she asks questions and lets them finish before making a comment or going on to next subject - Sarah should really watch how Jo interviews and take something from it
Yes. BACK OFF! I stopped watching after about 7 minutes, it was getting to be a race to see who could talk faster to finish saying what they wanted to say. Not the usual leisurely conversation that one could actually enjoy.
For the love of god if Jo cant present in the future, please don’t get Sarah Vine again! She just doesn’t let the guests get a word in! She speaks over them, and finishes their points! It would be lovely to have Rebecca present! Its always lovely to see her! NO MORE SARAH VINE!!!
Sarah, please stop interrupting the panel. And regarding the children being out, William and Catherine are slowly introducing them for what’s to come. They were at events that they were having fun. Relax and enjoy the new monarchy in town.😊
@@Talent3737 Wimbledon has a dress code for all spectators. PG wore a suit and tie as did other males. I much prefer to see him dressed like that as opposed to some of the other "styles" people let their children wear. He wasn't at the playground, he was there representing the RF, even at his young age. "Spectators are expected to sport formal daywear. Forbidden items include dirty sneakers, ripped jeans and running shorts." We all remember the mess of an outfit Markle wore with the jeans to Wimbldeon and the ripped jeans to the Invictus Games. I am an American and I am well aware of dress code and proper attire. We are not all as disrespectful as she is. Sarah Vine appears to follow Meghan Markle and not other Brits.
Who ARE these people that think “poor almost 10 year old boy to be in a suit!”. As an American: guess what? Our well brought up young men are in a suit for church, school awards, etc.
Suit and Tie is the Dress Code for the Royal Box at Wimbledon. Having said that P George is not always in a suit. The family visited the RAF personnel who transported HMTQ on her final journey to London and he wore Chinos and a Polo shirt. They dress him for the occasion.
I actually DO NOT see any problem. Look at other countries what children have to wear. Not everybody has to look like a lazy slob (which they never ever have). Id rather see a child looking nice for SPECIAL occasions and in more relaxed dress code anytime rather than sloppy crap so many do wear all the time. Its been part of the British history for ce turies - its much more relaxed than it used to be, if you didnt know??
@@katbar6066 So well said and I 100% agree. Imagine if they all walked around with crappy clothing like some wear. Someone always has to have a dig at them it seems, whatever they wear and we actually haveba 'Karen' here doing it!! The RF can never win it seems!
As an American, I can't even imagine approaching the President of the United States for a ride on Air Force One. Meghan and Harry seem to have no boundaries.
@@gordonsmith8899They think they are big pals with the Bidens Harry knew Joe before Harry got dragged down by the wooden actress. I'm surprised that Joe didn't agree. He and Harry have the same intellectual capacity.
It was evident that at the RAF AIR SHOW, all three children had a great time. They were each interested in listening, learning, looking at, various elements of the planes and the carriers. With George being 9, Charlotte being 8 and young Louis being 5, all three children have different interests in what they are seeing, different attention spans, different personalities and different questions to ask the people who were demonstrating things to them. The fact that it was a wet day, that when they got out of the car and stood in the rain, not one single child was fidgety or bothered by the rain. There was no carry on about wanting to be under an umbrella or to racing ahead to get inside. They are more than happy to be in the rain. When they each walked up the carrier, you could see their interest growing. I think it’s wonderful they had a chance to see an event that countless other children their ages see on any given weekend. At least when they’re with their friends, if a buddy shares that they went to the Air Show, they can join in the conversation. As for Sporting events, all three children are very active, outdoorsy children, who love sports of all kinds. I have nieces and nephews (23 of them) and the ones that are the same ages of the Wales children, would love to go to Wimbledon. It was wise of Catherine and William to leave Louis at home only because a Mens Final, is guaranteed to last at least 3.5 hours and up to 6-7 hours even. As it was, it lasted over 5.5 hours. A long time for a 5 year old to watch, without wanting to move about from seat to seat. George and Charlotte are at the age of beginning to understand everyday behaviour in public - I stress, are beginning to understand, because life is a journey of learning. The fact that they didn’t get bored was remarkable. The fact that they don’t annoy the dickens out of each other is truly beautiful too. They share the sweetest connection. It’s also a connection that they both share with Louis too. Truly three precious children 🇦🇺💚🧡💙
Sarah needs to ask a clear question and then be quiet as the experts make their statements. This episode was hard to watch. Sarah is far too aggressive and intrusive in her verbal style for this job. Jo, please come back!
I find it very tiresome that people feel the need to comment on the wardrobe of children. I am so impressed with the Prince and Princess of Wales and their ability to balance royal commitments with modern parenting. I think those children are remarkably well behaved and am delighted to see their involvement in royal engagements.
I so agree with you and feel that the Mail who always moderate the Sussex’s articles , should do the same for the Wales children ‘s , The first mentioned couples’ fans have supporters amongst their ranks that are unbelievably nasty and downright scary at times .
Get over it. This is the Royal Family. When their out messing around they have play clothes on. When they are out and about they are properly dressed. Have you nothing better to do than nit pick a child’s clothes. They have beautiful manners and are very respectful . 11:41 11:44
I can’t finish this. The “host” continuously butts in on Rebecca and Richard and it’s rude! She has angered me, as much as I love the show, I’ll just skip it if this woman hosts it. Loving Rebecca & Richard’s professional performance, as always.
I have to agree. First time I haven’t watched the whole thing and I usually look forward to it. Bring back Jo, or anyone else for that matter. Not this Rude Sarah.
I do hope Jo returns soon. She chairs and moderates discussion and informed content with aplomb and wit. I always enjoy the panel with Rebecca and Richard when they are allowed to complete their sentences!
Sarah Vine continuously spoke over Rebecca and Richard when they were attempting to answer the questions that she had asked them. She should have let them give their answers instead of interrupting them and cutting them off. It was difficult to listen to.
I am so sorry to say, but as a regular watcher of Palace Confidential I found it quite vexing that Sarah Vine constantly interrupted Richard and Rebecca and talked over them very often. Something Jo Elvin almost never does.
Totally agree with you, and in addition to her rudeness towards Richard and Rebbeca, another thing that I don't understand is why the makeup people gave her such heavy makeup, her face looks like a wax figure from the 17th century.
Could Sarah please let people finish their point? She isn’t a guest. I am here to hear what Richard and Rebecca's complete thoughts are. Sarah doesn't have the cred to cut either of them off.
Have you ever considered that Sara might feel like fish out of the water as she is not the person who normally is the host? This is exactly that the Prince of Wales is frustrated about.🤦♀️
For goodness sake. Sarah Vine will not let Richard or Rebecca even finish a sentence. It is just so rude and annoying. No Sarah Vine please on future episodes
As an American I resent the fact that Prince Harry, who is not an American citizen, had the audacity to call our First Amendment "bonkers". He has no right to criticize our Constitution. He needs to stay out of our politics. His wife can too, as far as I am concerned.
If Meghan tries to run for political office she will get her ego sliced, diced, roasted and handed back to her on a platter. The whole concept of her as a public servant is comical.
I cannot imagine Meghan running for office. She doesn’t have the capacity to let criticism roll off her back. If “Spare” was any indication, she sobs at the drop of a hat. Not quite the stable leader required. Not to mention, will she keep a hit list of news pundits, celebrities, and other who do criticize her? That she’s gone after Piers Morgan, Jeremy Clarkson, Dan Wooton to cancel their careers makes me question her character and mental strength. Public life is not for your to reek revenge on your enemies - it is to serve your constituents. Our government is for citizen leaders who support our Constitution and laws not folks looking to rule as totalitarians.
@@erinobrien8793 Even Richard Nixon did not start out with an enemies' list! This is someone who appears to shed people the way we shed skin cells, if they do not serve her rather inflated sense of her own importance, and who actively goes after those who are of no use to her, or who have offended her amour-propre. As for the First Amendment, I realise increasingly that the real danger of wokery is not mixed marriages in every second house in Midsomer, it's the dangerous antipathy to free speech. I am no fan of Nigel Farage, and disagree with a lot of what he has proposed, but I am absolutely outraged by Coutts Bank's actions regarding his accounts. His business with them is strictly business; it is seriously McCarthyist to deny him ordinary and generally impersonal services because they are under pressure to show their woke credentials. I don't much care if Coutts issues manifestos proving they are diverse, and box-tickingly up to the minute. Neither, I daresay, did Farage. They can hire who they like if they can count, and brag about it if they find financial talent in minority communities. So they should, and big deal. But no more should they care about his non-banking affairs. His opinions are his own affair. What we have here is a stonking example of thought police.
She wasn't rude. She was very polite in her words and good at the back and forth. She did cut in too much and interrupt but I think it was nerves. Give her a break.
Totally agrees with @kerstinlack4225. I didn’t find this rude at all. Interaction between presenters was distracting. But hopefully will improve in future.
I really do not think it is rudeness, either innate or professional. I know about television and one of the things new hosts find most difficult is keeping a conversation moving. There is a question of "dead air," though I doubt that would ever be an issue on this show and Ms. Vine has been a guest often enough to know that. But she is inexperienced, and enthusiastic, as well as being used to being on the receiving end of the questions, so I think her jumping in was natural, not rude. Ms. Elvin has the experience to ask the question, direct it, and back off. Amazingly enough, that is a great deal harder than it looks. Though very experienced interviewers use it to their advantage: rather than keep asking the same question over and over to elicit an answer, they will ask it and sit quietly, letting the silence mount, till the subject feels it necessary to answer something or look like a prat! But that is usually in political, somewhat adversarial, interviews and only works with experienced subjects, who know how awful their silence will appear, and seasoned hosts, who know when to give it up or try another tack. None of that applied here. But I saw nothing ill-natured here -- they are all colleagues, probably friends, and Richard and Rebecca have unquestionable manners and, as was pointed out, Sarah Vine relaxed into it as it went on.
Yes I agree ! Sarah keeps cutting off her guests ! It’s so rude and annoying…wish she would just be quiet and let them finish when she asks them a question! Seriously does she not realise we are not interested in her opinion??
So rude to keep interrupting and talking over the top of Richard and Rebecca. Loves the sound of her own voice - like that Tess Dunlop. Where is Jo??? 'Heard from these two' - hardly, Richard and Rebecca could barely get a word in. Let's hope we don't see that woman again!
This replacement interviewer needs to stop interrupting. She’s too eager with her knowledge. If she listened she find that Richard always covers all the relevant points, just in a graceful manner
I hate to be negative, but I'm somewhat irritated by Sarah Vine interrupting and not letting Rebecca or Richard finish what they were saying. I thought Sarah might realise she was doing this and it would ease up but it happened all throughout.
Whoever this woman is that is standing in for Jo, she's very opinionated as well as interrupting the guests as they are speaking. She seems to want to insert her opinions on everything instead of being a moderator. Very rude in my opinion. Jo, don't have this woman sit in for you again.
Rebecca and Richard showed today not only their professionalism as always but also their patience and good manners. The hostess showed nothing of that, sorry to say. Jo, enjoy your holiday, but note you are missed!
Jo’s stand-in made a response to every single phrase by Rebecca and Richard - an “mmm” or a “yes” or a retort. How off-putting. Someone needs to explain her role to her; it is not to showcase herself and her approval or opinions. I found this difficult to watch.
For heaven’s sake if Jo needs a day off do not have Sarah step in. She rudely hurries along and talks over the guests whose opinion we actually want to hear from! Hers is not the opinion I want. With Jo we actually feel we are having a chat.
I’m happy to report that Jo’ Elgin does NOT interrupt her colleagues. This stand in does!!! She seems to be rather opinionated, and takes over the narrative! Actually quite rude!!
Oh my gosh... Poor Rebecca & Richard hardly got a sentence out without interuption! Crickey Sarah...catch a breath and let the A team speak 👀 We appreciate you displaying good manners to our fabulous duo.
Sarah Vine She writes a column for the Daily Mail and is a bit of a harsh harpy very opinionated and too critical She needs to be put on the Do Not Hire List for Palace Confidential - Richard Kay, Jobson, Katie Nichol would all be great classy fill in temp hosts when lovely Jo Elvin is on vacation
@@joannahampton5979 I've never seen her as a guest and after this display of listening to her loving the sound of her own voice I have no interest in watching her either.
I don’t agree. Yes, she interrupted a couple of times, but she often referred back to Richard and his knowledge. It’s the interviewer’s job to steer the direction of things, so perhaps she felt the course needed to be changed. Ms. Vine knows a lot about history and the monarchy herself and she drew out the best in her guests and Knew what kinds of questions to ask. Also, she’s cheeky and fun- has a great sense of humor. She has a different style than Jo. I like it!
Their arrogance and entitlement knows no bounds. I'm still struggling to breathe from laughter at the audacity the skidmarkles had to actually ask to hitch a ride on Air Force One, actually Air Force None. Hysterical 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@susied.3376A certain number of members of the press routinely travel on Air Force One with POTUS. They are civilians. Just want to point that out. However, for the Harkles to ask to 'ride back' to the U.S. is absurd and absolutely laughsble. How embarrassing for them that they even asked! Megain's attention and ower grabs know no bounds!
Why would anyone comment or report negatively about children, especially about something so trivial as what George is wearing? If you can’t say something positive and encouraging about a child (and there seems to be plenty positive comments that could be made about these two children), just don’t say anything.
Sarah Vine. As the commentator I felt you seemed more interested in talking instead of asking a question and listening. You interrupted the guests SEVERAL times, Giving your opinion over and over. It was rude and not enjoyable to watch.
Do you all not realize that William went to Wimbledon for the first time with his mother at just about the same age as George, and that William also wore a jacket and tie??? How do I know this, being American, and you all don’t?
Just what I was about to say. William was at Wimbledon from age 8 which is the same age George and Charlotte have started to attend. Louis has another 3 years to wait. And yes clothing appropriate for the occasion and mandatory for all males in the royal box. Hands off the kids folks.
@@ally_bally6728 And I am surprised at the panel for commenting on his tie. British schoolchildren, at least when I went to school all wore ties with their uniforms -- boys and girls. I'm not sure girls still do, but boys do. My parents had a picture taken professionally of my brother and me in kilts when I was about 7, he 6. He wore a tie -- can't remember if I did but I wore one to school.
I think the difference between George and Charlotte going to Wimbledon and William and Harry NOT going as children is that George and Charlotte play tennis and therefore were interested and obviously engrossed in the matches. Also, George looked perfect in his jacket and tie and the sort of people criticizing would still be criticizing had he shown up in a polo shirt. They're attacking the Waleses through their children and it is despicable.
Let them attack who listens to Megatropolous’s fans that’s the only one’s with a negative comment and you DO NOT show up to Wimbledon in jeans and t-shirts but I guess Megan would. How does she dress her little ones we never see them so how could we comment. She takes the dog out more than her children.
@@bt8736 They have no children. I remember they used to sell joke gifts leashes for invisible dogs in tourist shops years ago. They were stiff and gave the impression you were walking a dog. I can imagine Markle using those leashes to walk "her children."
Princess Diana did take William to Wimbledon and he was also dressed in a suit. I agree, to say anything negative about the children or how they are being brought up is despicable.
I'm sorry , as I dont want to seem to be rude, but would you tell the presenter to stop interrupting the 2 people she's interviewing. She may not be aware that she's doing it but it comes across as rude. She does this all the way through.
Please do not bring back this Jo Elvin stand-in. She needs to know that it is not "her talk show". Not a chit chat in her home. She interrupts too much, and the opinions she gives are cringe worthy. I was tempted to switch off if it weren't for Richard and Rebecca, whom I admire and want to hear from.
As an American, I can honestly say that the idea of Meghan Markle being involved in national politics is a nightmare. And as a side note, if she were to even consider a political run, I am of the opinion she should surrender her royal title, as we don't have those in the U.S. (P.S. I would cheer for Rebecca English to run for any office she wishes--I love how she presents information and she has a fantastic sense of style. Well done, Rebecca!)
Yeh as if, she has not got the resilience to deal with a real smear campaign. She couldn't cope with minor family upset without feeling the need to tell the public what we should think!
Their mother s tennis-mad, so I daresay they have been raised with it. George's reactions in one of the montage pictures indicates he has just seen something pretty damned awful happening -- probably a Djokovic error that he knows will cost him the title. As a family, they probably watch a lot of it on TV together. William and Harry were out at polo with their father from a young age. That was THAT family's chief sporting interest. I don't remember any complaints about that. of course polo matches did not involve ties...
As a regular viewer I can tell from Richard's and Rebecca's body language that they're not too happy to be cut off either, or maybe that's just me. The vibe between them was off too. Jo you've been sorely missed!
I read all the comments and it seems UNANIMOUS that NOBODY wants Sarah Vine to return as host replacement. She is OK as a once in awhile guest but I find her to be bitchy, opinionated and too harsh sometimes in her rigid opinions. She is an excellent writer and I read her newspaper columns from time to time but she lacks the easy going well mannered demeanor of beloved Jo Elvin. The segment on M&H asking for a free ride on Air Force 1 was HILARIOUS. As an American taxpayer I would be quite upset if those freeloader grifters flew on Air Force 1. That Dumpster Fire in NY City when H&M lied and said paparazzi chased them on a near deadly wild ride was 100% because M&H asked for a BIG DISCOUNT at a NY hotel and were refused. So they were too cheap to pay for their own hotel which would have a back entrance and high security - so they freeloaded on friends in NY and stayed in a private home - the wild goose chase ride supposedly was not to disclose the address of the NYC friends home where they were staying during their visit. Holy Cramoli! IF they would just PAY for their own air fare and hotel rooms instead of trying to get freebies they would not be generating tacky negative publicity. I'm a senior on a fixed income Social Security and I never ask for freebies from friends and family! Whats all the fuss about little Georgie in a spiffy suit and tie - he looked adorable - this was a non-issue fabribcated by tabloids just to cause a kerfuffle. Looking forward to our beloved Jo Elvin coming back next week? If Jo Elvin is on an extended vacation then hire Richard Kay, Jobson, Katie Nichols to be the co-host............for goodness sake DO NOT hire that big mouth, interrupting Sarah Vine to be the temp host!
I am a big fan of this show and never miss it so thank you all for your brilliant commentary, tasteful, insightful and with a bit of humor. I did catch something this time though and I can’t say I appreciated Sarah constantly cutting into what Rebecca and Richard were saying. A bit rude. I’m missing Jo Elvin!!
Goodness I was thinking the exact same way.I know she has questions to ask but please let them finish the answer without interrupting. It seemed like she had her own thoughts and was determined to get her opinion out!! I have never seen such rudeness on this show ever:
