‘Recognising failure’: Jeff Kennett lashes Daniel Andrews’ King’s gong award 

Former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett says he thought Daniel Andrews’ King’s gong honour was a “joke” but came to the conclusion Australia is now recognising failure.
“I did not believe it; I thought it was a joke, but when I looked further into it, I have come to the conclusion the chairperson … and the Governor General have both failed all Australians by now rewarding failure,” he said.
“Health, infrastructure, has so demonstrably failed … highest civilian award to an individual who has failed, we are recognising failure.”
