In fact, it was the two main political establishments that consistently used ethnic divisions for their own advantage. Polarization was deliberately created, especially leading up to elections, in order to secure votes. Sri Lanka was reborn on the 22nd of September, 2024!

Importantly, he has never been anti-Tamil or anti-Muslim, which could help foster unity and stronger diplomatic ties. This is the last hope for Sri Lanka. The biggest concern is that whether the opposition parties are willing to let him rule. All the politicians except a hand full are corrupted to the core. This man's main vision is to put an end to corruption which does not sit well with the majority of the Parliament. Unfortunately there are around 60% of the population still worship those corrupted politicians because either they are very narrow minded or because they get other benefits from those politicians. If the people support (people living in the country and abroad), this man has the vision to change the future of the nation for better.
