David, please don't waste your life playing poker. Read a book, learn art, write a poem, register someone to vote, teach criticism, learn criticism, send a script to Robert Nolan, study Plato's Dialogues.
*first episode spoiler* I honestly thought it was going to be a split-personality thing, that Mae died physically but survived through the Force in Osha's mind and was able to take control of their shared body to carry out her missions. It felt like the rhyme they said as kids hinted at that. I thought the "tell" would be the forehead scar, with it disappearing with Osha was in control but it forming when Mae took over.
It's pretty good so far. I skipped most of the non-Andor series because I have no relationship with the Filoni stuff. Loved that opening fight scene tribute to every Shaw Brothers' teahouse brawl. And yeah, I'm also glad they didn't stretch out the twin thing past episode 1. But at this point the major reveals remaining seem to be what did the Jedi do on Brendock and who Mae's master is, and can they stretch out that tension for 6 more episodes?
I really liked the short monologue of the dark side master at the end of episode one as it is intriguing to what exactly the plan is to weaken the Jedi order. It's funny though that he's talking about killing without a weapon and then ignites a lightsaber 😂
What are the Jedi? They're Knights. They're oathbound warriors in service to a sovereign, which in this case is the Jedi Council I guess. So sometimes they do law enforcement, sometimes they lead troops, sometimes they deliver diplomatic correspondence, sometimes they guard important people or places, sometimes they perform religious duties.
I don't want to be that guy for pointing this out. Love Dave but I do notice a pattern. He is much more generous in his film/tv reviews that have an Asian lead in it. The Sympathizer. Shogun. The Acolyte.
I finally got through the first two episodes. I was watching the first episode and it started buffering 15 minutes in and I just turned the TV off and didn't come back for two weeks. The writing is awful. The show looks awful as well. The Jedi temple scenes show the Volume at its worst, and the rest of the time they keep reusing the same location for no reason other than it was the only set they built. 50% of episode two is all outside the apothecary shop and it is definitely no Andor with location. Can we talk about the complete disconnects to any sort of reasonable flow of time? For example, she gets put on a prison transport, and there is the break out and then moments after all the prisoners have been re-captured and brought to Coruscant and yet nobody has gotten to the scene of the escape to check on the crash site? Then our Jedi fast travel to the site and arrive twenty minutes after the crash before she has had a chance to freeze to death or get covered in snow falling through the gashes in the ship. It is sloppy, distracting, and terrible writing. I am not hopeful for the rest of this.
After watching one full episode I'm done, just like I was after Kenobi and Book of Boba. Everything I'm hearing things only go downhill from here. But either way I won't be wasting my time on this one any further. The Critical Drinker review of Ep1 perfectly sums up both my overall sentiments as well as my specific issues with this show. I even noticed The Fugitive ripoffs at the time which The Critical Drinker brought up in his review too. Being derivative unfortunately is just one of its many issues. Sorry Dave but this is aint no Andor. The cringe is strong is with this one!
This show is great if you hate Star Wars and hate yourself. F Disney and F Lucasfilm for what they have done and what they're doing to so-called Disney "Star Wars".
@@ninjaeddy1717 it was not exciting at all. I didn’t think Star Wars could get any blander. The only Star Wars show worse than this is probably Boba Fett
@@iamsheepfair. For me it’s as good as 90s sci fi tv like Stargate and Andromeda. I’ll stick with it to see if it ends up like Next Generation or Babylon 5
When they had a fire blazing in space without oxygen - it told me there is zero intelligence in this show or zero care for the IP - lost me right there - Star Wars has become idiotic.
@@ninjaeddy1717 it didn't burn like a campfire for 5min ... I understand suspension of disbelief for the sake of cinema - but death star was a quick explosion ... There was not a campfire in space
These activists have turned the Jedi into cops and ...whatever - bye bye Star Wars, bye bye white male straight characters , bye bye story , hello girl bosses, hello agendas, hello 2 dimensional characters and poor acting, bad dialogue, hello ridiculous brave new world
Wasn't bad or great, just Meh. I'm willing to give it a chance to see if it gets better. Although. There already only six episode left which does have me concern. I don't like how they have handled to the TV show. They feel more like movies split instead base for a TV series.
