I have been a giant fan of Alex's ever since "MAD TV"...I am so happy people are getting to know her and her work. I don't think she realizes how beautiful she is. I would so love to see her as the leading woman in an exceptional film....because she is EXCEPTIONAL!!!! Thank you so much for the tears and laughter, Alex...Wishing you growing success and happiness!
loved her in all her sketches in Madtv, Gilmore Girls’ characters and now in Mrs Maisel. She is the star in every scene she is in...A drama+ comedy genius. Beyond the “meryl streeps” , Oscar Winners of the world.
I’d say the same about the whole cast really. Casting director deserves an award haha Bc if is one of the most perfectly cast shows I’ve ever seen. And the chemistry is unreal. Damn. the show is just fantastic.
At least spell her name right guys, come on; two Emmys! My favorite roll from her is Ms. Swan for Mad TV. That character she created was just wonderful (and I'm married to an Asian for over 35 years)! She has me rolling in laughter every time I look-up the same MadTV Ms. Swan posts. Although Bunny Swan is an exaggeration (probably of someone Alex knew), I can identify with her Asian "quirks" - she does her so well, it's believable. She's a female Jack Benny, and about time she gets some recognition.
@@tulasipriya I agree - she's a little unconventional in that she is younger and not as buttoned-up, but her questions are thoughtful and the whole thing is just real and genuine.
The interviewer is bad. Why do most of the woman and some of the men from my generation have this affect in their voice. Everything sounds artificial. Also, I know the show is about stand-up but that’s the *least* we know Alex from. No Madtv? No shitty movies like Catwoman?
The age of the person doing this interview is an ill fit. She misses a whole lot of the cues from Alex’s responses because she’s too inexperienced to understand them and have a dialogue. The repeated “wow” coming from her would not come from someone who has some life experience. The person making these choices needs to be able to gauge their staff and who’s a better fit for the talent.
sigh... gone are the days where actresses had class..... what do you do to relax... REALLY?!?!?! Where's your class, where are your morals and values, you have children, jeez louise.... Sorry but NO.
BRAVA ALEX, BRAVA SUSIE. Alex you are doing an excellent, brave, mind expanding adventure, for your kids- what I had planned for my life, I have 2 dear friends who love Barcelona. I love Susie for just what drew you to her- she's not asexual but she's mysterious, nervous here- I admire her for being a survivor of a non-family...yes she's been hurt but she doesn't whine, she just gives the world a shove, yet you know there's a soft spot, you can count on her. I had a BFF for years I met at college and Susie even chews like her! Makes me cry, as she's long gone but also being sister-less, I smile, laugh, indulge in my memories. Thank you Alex Borstein. I LOVE SUSIE MEYERSON. I CANT IMAGINE HOW THIS SHOW WOULD BE WITHOUT HER. What a multi-talented, refreshingly honest! don't say, narcissist, the smart-ass comic seems to be in you, but so are the girly girly characteristics of Miriam, - obviously I am nuts about Susie, and keen to see you in other roles. Not good in math, hmm. Can you write, draw, SING!? I have a feeling you are a writer. I'll end by saying you are very pretty, I never thought, "is this a boy?" You sure don't look your age either, and your hair is gorgeous- does being short bug you? ! HOW MUCH AUTONOMY DO THE WRITERS GIVE YOU? Can you ad lib, do you and Rachel ever divert from the script- I feel like Amy would be open to her actors- thank you for your hard work. I hope season 4 comes soon. Namaste. A fan in Canada.
Absolutely loved Getting On. I've showed so many people the clip where you and Ms Nash are trying to figure out what a lady's saying and using the phone for an interpreter... makes me tear up. Sadly, realistic hospital nonsense. Also, you're the BEST part of MMM. Incredible acting, Brava
Yep open mic sucks trying to perfect comedy jokes does feel right to me either. It needs to be organic and on the spot at that moment. That’s true comedy
She wants her children to learn Spanish so she goes to the capital of Catalonia where they speak Catalan? Spanish people, Spanish men? It was Barcelona and the Catalans are more like the French and Italians. That is NOT Castilian. Not the best informed person really. Particularly when Spain is run by the renamed Spanish Fascist Party - Partido Popular and is busily sending Castilian military police into Catalonia to beat Catalans in the street. Let's not forget the heads of the Catalan government now held as politcal prisoners and the former President that was forced into exile.
Who is not very well informed? No, even though they are Catalans, they are more like the Spanish than the French or Italians and 100 percent bilingual in Castilian Spanish. Catalunya is totally Catalan while its capital is formed of a large mix of Spaniards from other parts of the Peninsula as well as a large group of Latin Americans all who communicate daily in "Spanish".
She just moved there because she left her husband and thought Family Guy was all she was going to be doing the rest of her life. She may know some about your country, but the finer details? Even if she does know she’s not going to take the time to explain, where in Spain Barcelona is, that is belongs to a region that thinks it should be autonomous and they have a different (another) Romance language spoken.
Nothing against the actress, but I can't stand this show and every time I'm watching something on Netflix they seem to have a commercial for this show beforehand. The main reason I don't like the show is because Is because the character isn't funny. She's not believable as a comedienne. I wouldn't pay to see her. She's not funny, she's silly, like boring silly.
kleec0203 You need to realize that the character is in the 50’s and comedy was different back then. Also, there were only 3 or 4 actual female comics at that time, so it was all very new. I don’t laugh at her stand-up either, but the other characters are hilarious to me.
