‘Their goose is cooked’: Tories set for election ‘wipeout’

Finance entrepreneur and geopolitics expert Dr Roger Gewolb discusses the upcoming UK elections.
“I think the future for the Tories, I mean the goose is cooked,” Mr Gewolb told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.
“I don’t think they will come back.
“I think the Tories will disappear for some years.
“It’s the biggest wipeout of the Tories since the 1900s.”

I hope not. Huge absolute majorities are always bad for democracies abd with Starmer even worse. He's just a disguised Tory. In a few years time I see him signing a trade deal with the USA blowing off British agriculture. And with a huge majority there is little you can do to stop him.

The FPTP system means at this level of polling Reform could double their seats with just a percent or two increase. It's like a lot of seats will come at once as they get above the threshold. They had better work double hard now to make all the work worth it.

Moved so far left (followed Blair) that they became left of centre. They also embraced big government/tax and spend. I would add broken promises along the way didn't sit well (see imigration).

Reform are going to get less than 10 seats probably less than 5 - all they’re doing is splitting the right wing vote and handing Labour the biggest majority for any party in a very very long time

Conservative minded voters must differentiate between different types of Tory. If your candidate is at all like Badenoch, Braverman, Rees-Mogg, and maybe a quarter of the Parliamentary Party who are proper conservatives they should be supported. If he/she is a managerial technocrat like Hunt, Keegan and most of Sunak's Cabinet, vote Reform. This is the only way to make the Party change: to expect Mr Farage to somehow take over the Tory Party is a pipe dream.
