It appears that Labor honestly believes that it has to power to stop the climate changing in the world by populating Australia with PV solar, wind, transmission lines and EVs. If there are EV fires that this seems to be seen as simply collateral damage that is necessary, stop climate change and to meet the targets that were promised to the UN. Of course, this will drive up insurance policies and costs having to fix any damage from EVs but, of course, all this will increase the GST take for Labor. There is practically nothing done for fires that might start in garages of high rise buildings if an EV catches fire.

I got my electricity and gas bill today, $542 and $548....despite having a 10KW system on the roof. Energy in Australia is broken.

In just a few years it will be the norm the average Australian family will be paying a minimum $8,000 annually for electricity. Australians will remember it was Labor that is responsible for expensive unreliable renewable energy.

What a lot of confected shock. Renewable energy regularly hits 100% of the grid and has to be curtailed. It just broke through to 74% of the whole grid earlier this week. Coal is down at 25%. So even charging your EV off the grid is mostly green energy. EVs are getting cheaper and gives us fuel independence from Middle East oil supplies, which, if you haven't noticed, is a bit of a hot spot at the moment.

Just like the battery in your smartphone, every time your EV battery is discharged and recharged, a tiny bit of that very expensive huge battery bank dies , and with it some of the range . So , some time after the $20,000 dollar battery warranty has expired, you will be faced with either buying a new car , or spending likely $20,000 or upwards depending upon the vehicle to replace that degraded battery on a 9 or 10 year old car . From my point of view neither option is satisfactory. And when I look at my conventional ICE cars I’ve had over the decades , many of them where still operating well at 15 ,20 , some even at 30 years old on basic maintenance, now that to me is a green vehicle . And lastly , EVs do not work well in adverse conditions, they don’t tow well , they are basically a one trick pony for commuting, they are not and never were a direct replacement for internal combustion vehicles !

Solar and Wind farms all the way! Lets get it done and reach net zero ASAP!
