Raygun won the Oceania selection event. The Oceania Olympic selection event (The QMS 2023 WDSF Oceania Breaking Championships) in October 2023 brought together the top Breakers, both Bgirls and Bboys. A panel of 9 international adjudicators, a head judge and a chairperson who oversaw the competition, using the same judging system at the Paris Games and trained to uphold the highest standards of impartiality. These judges are all highly respected in their respective communities and in the international Breaking scene. There were 15 that showed up for the event. She was the best that showed up on the day. Have a think about that. Clearly break dancing in Australia there is not a lot of people with talent. Who would have thought.

But yes the break dancer was a joke ... its not only Australia's shame though, its all of the western worlds for allowing this sort of a woke thing to happen in the first place ... you know, a British woman athlete broke her leg 2 miles into the marathon but refused to quit and went on to complete the marathon, that's the sort of non medal performance that we should all be praising and celebrating ... a person showing true grit in the face of adversity, not a person behaving like a joke and embarrassment

Keiran Perkins and Anna Meares have denigrated their own performances at the Olympics. Neither of them could put their hands on their hearts say that that was a worthy performance for the Olympics. It has nothing to do with her being a woman or an older competitor but she was just not up to Olympic standards. I dare both Anna and Keiran to say that Rayguns performance was equal or better than any performance they put in at the Olympics.
If she was not going to perform to Olympic standard, why go....obviously someone else missed out on the opportunity to go to the Olympics and represent Australia..

Actually, the person she "beat" out to get that trip to Paris made Breaking look like Ballet and Gymnastics. The two men show down for Gold was pretty impressive athleticism. They have to keep the Games relevant. It's either this or tagging, car jacking or looting.
Her husband was on the committee that elected to send her over other, better, breakdancers. She said in an interview that someone told her that dynamic movement was her weakness, which apparently didn't ring any alarm bells, even though breakdancing is ALL dynamic dancing lol. She chose not to train for "dynamic dancing" (aka breakdancing), just putting on something strange that she can call "creative" because she thinks her PhD in breakdancing makes her smarter than any legitimate breakdancer.

Allegations have been made that 1) She formed her own organisation to stack the cards in her favour during qualifying 2) Appointed her husband as coach, and judge at Olympic qualifying, even though he has as much talent as she does. This is clear nepotism and a conflict of interest 3) Had funds diverted from an NT youth group's breaking performers to support her own efforts These allegations have yet to be substantiated, but from the evidence presented, there should at least be an inquiry into how funding, qualifying and management of the Australian Women's breaking representation. We paid for it, after all.

Athletes generally have to make a minimum quantifiable standard to even qualify for the Olympics. Seems like there was no minimum standard for break dancing.
