Nah! It’s not a true fixie. They sell it as a fixie, but only per the frame and single speed setup. It does have a freewheel hub. LOL! If someone built a true fixie motorized bike, I would be floored hahaha!
Please help I actually got the same bike and I am having problems with the chain poping which is not very safe any ways I was wondering if u can send me a link for the engine mount you have on it? Would be very appreciated thanks
Know it’s a year later and you probably figured it out but someone else might see this. The chain tensioners that come in the kits are typically the issue. My grandfather built a lot of motorized bikes and he would always order a different chain tensioner whenever he bought a kit.
Hi Mark.. very nice looking bike! I have a question. How were you able to keep those cool looking yellow handle grips? (I'm referring to the throttle grip.) I know most grips that come in the engine kit are black. Did you paint the engine kit grips yellow? Or was the yellow bicycle grip large enough to slide over top of the black throttle grip that came in the engine kit?
Question is this model the exact same dimensions as the other color models? (red n blk/blu n blk) ?? I just want one to be able to mount my jbl speaker on the handle bars like my Kent 700c road bike but with these handle bars doesn't look like I can.
That is a true fixie bike and I would not recommend motorizing that kind. You will need a free wheel hub. You can always switch out the hub if you already have the bike, but if you don’t know how or don’t want to do that then just pick out another bike. Happy building.
@@SouthernCustomCC thank you for your reply, the type of fixie bike I have has an option for either free wheele or fixed wheele. I will only be using the free wheele, so I was able to take off the secondary gear.
@@painhasgotchyu8141 do not put that on the motorized bike, trust me. I tried it. It is impossible to start, and if you did. It would go ridiculously fast
Literally Just Purchased this bike at Walmart today for about $98 and was looking forward too putting a motor on it and then I look it up on RU-vid and it’s right here lol
C. REID : Hey! Hope all is well on your end 👍. This bike has really good pep and a quick low end response rate--even though it is a 700c wheelbase. I am just a fan of cruisers because weight is distributed to my butt when riding whereas on the MTB and fixie bikes, your weight is up front on your wrist. Not so much fun for longer rides. With that said, this bike will still get the job done and provide so much fun for the rider. Nice to hear from you!

Interesting use of a $98 bike. But two things; 1) I don’t trust v-brakes on a motorized bike or ebike...doesn’t seem even close to safe at 20+ mph. 2) Be very cautious about your state laws with a motorized bike in your state... a guy that goes to the same bike shop was telling about his that he did about the same. Long story short and $375 later in fines, he took it apart. Most states above 50cc and you have to get it registered.
Hey David, sounds like you need to grow some balls. If you’re too scared to use v brakes, you can put disc brakes on just about any bike for like $20. 99% of the time cops don’t care if you ride these, I’ve passed them on the roads hundreds of times on my motorized bike. If the cops did pull you over, they would have no way of knowing that the engine is over 50cc.

I just got my engine kit today it was posted to show up yesterday but they messed up and put two different stickers on with two different address on the stickers
You should be able to. Just purchase a new flip-flop hub, and replace the current hub. You may need a new chain depending on new rear sprocket size. Happy building 👍
