This video perhaps misled you into thinking the judge got to decide the fairness of Elon's compensation package... that wasn't the issue at all. The minority shareholders filed a derivative lawsuit alleging that Tesla's board of directors violated their fiduciary duty in approving Elon's compensation package... in other words that they did not act in the best interest of all the company's owners. The judge decided the issue mostly based on the evidence suggesting that it was Elon, and not the Board, who essentially approved his own compensation package.

Actually, it does. The survival of the company outweigh the contract, particularly when the contract was never on solid ground to begin with given the nature of the market. It's requirements and what was done to get there. Tesla might be here in five years if not sooner the EV market is dead and has been on arrival. The cyber truck was the final nail in the coffin.

I would have made same bet also. Presently, I have a 3 fund portfolio consisting of 33% S&P, 33% Total stock, and 33% international. I feel a need to focus on complete growth so I went 100% stocks, but does the SP500 and TSM overlap too much to make sense holding both? However I’ve been in the red for a month now. I work hard for my money, so investing is making me a nervous sad wreck. I don’t know if I should sell everything, sit and just wait but watching my portfolio dwindle away is such an eye -sore.

I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

Its not up to the board, the vote had to be redone by shareholders because of the judge, we will know the results in two weeks. But a judge in Delaware can keep messing with our contracts if another shareholder with 9shares sues, thats why Tesla is moving to Texas. Tesla barely makes a profit, which means that Elon would be paying himself with investor's money. That's the inherit problem. If Tesla was making $200 billion in profit and Elon wanted a $56 billion bonus then I could understand. But as things stand now he would literally just be pocketing money given by investors.

Let's make something clear since it wasn't mentioned by anyone in the panel correctly: Tesla does NOT need to pay Elon $55b. In Fact, it's the opposite. Elon is ALLOWED to buy up to $55B worth of Tesla stock at rhe prices from 2018 when he signed this deal. Tesla doesn't pay Elon. Elon exercises HIS RIGHT to buy the stock at 2018 prices for his astonishingly difficult accomplishment.

@@samchs222 Elon has not earned that bonus. Again, Tesla barely makes a profit and often goes through most quarters at a loss. The reason the valuation of Tesla is so high is because Elon blatantly lied back in 2017 and said that Tesla already had full FSD, and that it would be economic suicide for anyone to buy anything other than a Tesla because you would be able to use your Tesla (in 2017) as a robo taxi and make 3x to 5x on your Tesla. It's 2024 and neither of those two statements are close to being fulfilled, but were the sole cause of Tesla's valuation skyrocketing and ballooning to where it is today. He also said, in 2018, that Tesla had a semi truck that could haul cargo for 500+ miles on a single charge. It's 2024 and there's still no semi. Tesla's valuation is the result of 100% blatantly lying and has nothing to do with actual legitimate results. In no shape or form has Elon earned a $55 billion bonus when Tesla has still failed to deliver on all of his promises.

Elon could disappear tomorrow and Tesla would surpass its 2021 highs, if not 3 other new Teslas would take its place. The only thing that's keeping Tesla's stock price from collapsing are Biden's tariffs on CCP EV cars. In effect this is just a large government handout to someone that knows their business is going to collapse unless they infuse it with more capital or find a way to wash their hands off of it altogether. Totally makes sense why they are reluctant to pay him, since the CCP is proving that they can conquer the EV world at much cheaper the cost than Elon.

Tesla, Musk, and the board lied to shareholders about the difficulty of the goals. Due diligence is supposed to be done by the board. Which was controlled by him. Individual shareholders do not have access to the same information that the CEO and board does. That’s why a board must be independent. They represent the shareholders not the CEO. If you cannot see the problem you are the problem. The actual analogy is if you hire a lawyer to represent you in a deal and the lawyer is actually friends with the other party and makes a deal not in the interest of you. If there is collaboration between the lawyer and the other party it is 100% a void deal and illegal.

Maybe it goes sideways or down in summer, but it peaks only in June-July, and before that it pumps like crazy in May. Next few months will be euphoric, forget about deeper corrections. Stock market is already oversold, put/call ratio near extreme levels, May is historically bullish for tech stocks (if earnings come out good). Bitcoin will probably chop around here and close month negatively (first time in 8 months), then to the moon! And even if there is a larger correction in the future, it will happen above previous ATH, that's where BTC.D dumps and altseason kicks in. So the fun is just getting started...It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 432k in the space of a few months... I believe this judge was also involved in Elon buying Twitter case where she ruled against him. Her decision on Tesla was on the behave of a person holding only 9 shares in the lawsuit. The attorneys are asking for $1 billion in attorneys fees. The judge has said that Elon was already rich and therefore didn’t believe he deserves the pay. She also said she wanted to go where no other judge has gone before in her decision in this case.

Yes, to everything except I think the attorneys that argued against his contract are asking for $6 Billion in Tesla shares. It apparently works out to around $286,000 per billable hour! How the hell is that justified. They say they are protecting shareholders who weren't informed enough at the original vote. Shareholders that are up like 8x from then. And during the peak at end of 2021 to start of 2022 was more like 18x. I'm sure everyone that held that whole time feels so hard done by...not. Well, at least not until those lawyers came along.

The judge made her decision on her emotions and political views and not from the position of impartiality. I believe the way Tesla structured their compensation for their CEO should the standard. It is based on performance and meeting goals and advancing the company before they get paid. Not where the company is sinking and poorly performing and loosing money for the shareholders and the CEO still makes off with 100’s of millions in pay and that’s okay?
