“A beacon of light and hope”: Bahá’í House of Worship inaugurated in Papua New Guinea

More than 1,000 people from across Papua New Guinea (PNG) gathered in Port Moresby on Saturday for the inauguration ceremony of the country’s national Bahá’í House of Worship. The program continued on Sunday, welcoming another 3,000 people to join in celebrating the historic occasion.
The program on Saturday included remarks by Kessia Ruh, a member of the Continental Board of Counsellors in Australasia whom the Universal House of Justice named as its representative to the event. Mrs. Ruh read a letter from the House of Justice addressed to the gathering, which stated: “Purity of heart, deep spirituality, and unshakeable faith-these attributes are inherent in the noble people of Papua New Guinea, ... they are the foundation upon which the House of Worship has been built.”

@alistairkichawen8046 this is a House of Worship, a place where all are welcome to come and pray. In this House their are no sermons or lectures, only the reading or singing of words of scripture. Although Baha'i accept and believe in Christ and the Holy Bible, we follow no specific Christian doctrine or interpretation. You are probably aware that there are many denominations of churches, each of which declares they have the true understanding. Jesus wants unity of the people. You know how these differences have caused great divisions in the church of Jesus Christ. Baha's do not promote one over the other as more true. It's difficult to explain this over the internet, so I suggest you contact the Baha'is in your area about this question, so they can explain better. Bless you.

Without giving voice to God? What do you mean? The Bahá'í Faith is all about God's love towards all humankind. For example, "O SON OF MAN! I loved thy creation, hence I created thee. Wherefore, do thou love Me, that I may name thy name and fill thy soul with the spirit of life." As to its long-term purpose, let me quote Shoghi Effendi who headed the Faith from 1921 to 1957: "God’s purpose is none other than to usher in, in ways He alone can bring about, and the full significance of which He alone can fathom, the Great, the Golden Age of a long-divided, a long-afflicted humanity." In other words, the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. 😇
