We’ve seen the web community create style tiles, element collages, style guides, pattern libraries, and a slew of other tools in order to break interfaces down to their atomic elements. Our interfaces are going more places than ever before, so this shift is essential to help us better understand what our websites consist of in order for us create smart, scalable, maintainable designs. Brad Frost introduces atomic design, a methodology for creating robust design systems. Brad covers how to apply atomic design to implement your very own design system in order to set you, your organization, and your clients up for success.

Goddamn, this guy should be credited for a lot of Figma features today! just know him for few hour and my brain already exploded

What a guy! The intended value of the presentation is definitely there, but if I saw Mo' Money Mo' Problems and his explanation for the image of the human image choice as a complex organism I don't know I could keep a quiet composure. Those comedy bombs are 10/10 execution. Quite remarkable for him to make the effort to teach a highly thought-out system to the community too. Excellent presentation and fantastic sense of humor!

I just about fell out of my chair when he said... "Does anyone have to make comps like these? (Pause) It's okay. It's alright." F-L-A-M-E-S!!!

A button with text can be also a moclecule, cause it contains a label. so a button is a rectangle + label?

Youre missing the point. Rectangle arent an actively used element in a design system where a button is. This methodology was designed to bring simplicity and logic to a website's assets, if you start breaking it down to smaller elements it becomes complicated and cumbersome

In my head I can conclude that rectangle do not have "button functionality". So the label as well. So button is an atom. If you broke it down you lose button functionality. So view it from functionality perspective, not element.

Atomic Design's ideas are nothing new. Designers have been using Design Systems (reusable components and patterns) from the very beginning with Photoshop. Adobe Flash also used graphic "components". We just didn't call it Design Systems back then. Nowadays it's easier to create a Design System with the cloud-based ability in Adobe XD. I think Brad is a cool guy, but he only highlighted the idea of the obvious.

Какой же этот челик слабенький дизайнер. В 2018 делать дизайн на уровне 2013 и руководствуясь такими же очевидными и устаревшими идеями это просто печально.
