The 19th and last in a series of weekly BBC radio broadcasts introduced by Sir John Betjeman - later Poet Laureate. It was broadcast on 1 April 1966 and features the choir of Worcester Cathedral, directed by Christopher Robinson, with assistant organist Harry Bramma.

Thank you for this post. What a wonderful paean to an age passed during my own lifetime. Best enshrined in the unashamed use of the word "English", by Sir John. Fifty years of cultural Marxism in our schools and universities have resulted in an ancient people, who are afraid to proclaim their own birthright!
