I have *maximum* respect for all of Gaza’s journalists like Akram Al-Satarri, and I do indeed remember seeing him reporting many times on Democracy Now! 🖤 Aside from the retelling of the abject horrors and injustices being brought upon the people of Gaza, the one thing that always stands out to me from Akram’s reporting is his terminology of families looking for “their dears” (while the English phrase “loved ones” has become commonplace, and therefore loses some of its real emotion); such a touching (and heartbreaking, in context) phrasing that brings a very raw and emotional response 🤍 For the avoidance of any doubt: this *is not* a veiled criticism in any way - I legitimately love this, and as my non-English language skills are *very* limited (and I definitely couldn’t do what Akram is doing, even in my first language! 💚), I have only soaring mountains of respect for him! ❤️
