@@jaybeans981 Wouldn’t a jujutsu kaisen fan be a bigger fan of something like this than the Moro or Granolah arc, since this seems to be a bit more grounded (as far as fight scenes go) and well choreographed compared to the stuff in those arcs?

Because people are just coping, calling it nostalgic and iconic or talking about how the powerscaling is back to normal. Nothing is nostalgic about this, if it was in toriyamas old style, sure, but is just fucking kid goku vs some weakass copy paste enemies with no creative designs. The action in the trailer doesnt showcase anything amazing, in fact its kind of underwhelming, same with the animation, because aside from the smear frames and the 2 slow mo shots its not interesting whatsoever. Its just not good enough so far to actually be hopeful for it.

This was directly written and developed by Akira himself, confirmed by him and by the staff. He created the general story, the same way he created the general story ad synopsis of Super and gave them to Toei and Toriyama. This is something that other clearly not canon projects like GT or the movies except Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, Broly and Super Hero lack. Almost every non-canon project in DB has in common that Toriyama wasn't involved in the plot nor the settings and barely supervised it.

No it won't. He had many things in production and was still working on the Manga. You'll see multiple things that he worked on come out for the next few years.
