The supreme court picked the president in 2000, please don't allow them to do it again. Why haven't election laws been shored up, why haven't there been standards applied for running for office? Our country is not a beacon of hope and freedom. It is a weak and embarrassing example. Where is the enforcement of laws, and accountability for the law breakers?

That system _is_ failing. The proof is that a big chunk of the country supports this orange idiot. The American education system has been systematically defunded and degraded starting with Reagan in 1980, so we know have tens of millions of voting-age adults who have no clue how governments or economies work, and who can be easily duped into supporting a fake billionaire who doesn't give two sh*ts about them.
