@@MrTudwud Yep, but I would also add that one of the reasons the markets and banks bucked so ferociously was because the mini-budget tried to change too much too fast. Liz acknowledges this now, describing it as a handbrake turn. If it had gone a bit softer to introduce the idea and ease the market and banks to the idea of a high-growth economy, then ramp up the pressure over the next few years she had in office, then I think it could have weathered the EU, Bank, and Quango storm.

interesting,,,,,in the budget they have doubled car tax for the first year of new vehicles for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars but EVs kept at a minimum...... now up tp 5k pounds for a range rover but 100pounds for an EV....they are trying to force us all onto buying EVs tohelp with net zero
My mortgage is due and I was hoping interest rates would go down….i am a single working mother and I have not benefitted in anyway from this budget…I am not a high earner either. I will be paying £200 extra a month on my mortgage. Doesn’t sound a lot to some but it is for me. I’ve worked all my life paying taxes..☹️
Why do you not ask the father (s)of your child(ren) to pay his way instead of other people whom you do not even know but whom you want to subsidize you and your lifestyle choices? One of which clearly was not to work at marriage as you knew others would pick up the tab. Please try to develop a sense of personal accountability for your situation as the rest of us should and some do.
@ you don’t know my circumstances and you are making assumptions that are incorrect …maybe have a think about other circumstances why a child may not have a father. Oh and by the way I don’t claim benefits other than child benefit which couples claim too. I am self employed and was hoping they’d lower taxes for lower earners….
