I'm from the Philippines and it really angers me how so many of my compatriots fall victim of fake news. They believe in anyone saying something outlandish if it goes against the established facts. I think Filipinos like to think that we have been lied to and that they have now discovered the lie. It's not true! This is especially the case with the Marcos regime. Thousands and thousands of accounts of the Marcos atrocities have been documented but people, presented with the shining idea that the Philippines was in its golden age under the Marcoses, willingly turn their eyes from the evidences and started worshipping Marcos.
