This hunt was one of my dreams, decoying hundreds of fully plumed drake shovelers in like big groups of mallards. The stars aligned on this day for us and we ended up with one of the prettiest bags I've ever seen. This is the second installment of the series "Just North of the Border" hope you all enjoy!

Is hollywood an existing nickname for shovelers or did y’all come up with it? I met some out of state duck hunters in North Dakota like 10 years ago who really liked shovelers and called them “hollywood”. Given the small group of duck hunters who actually like these birds it seems like too much of a coincidence 🤣
