@@youngblasarius Yes very interesting, even I just recently discovered it 😄 Mostly aap/suu = yes , or ilaana = very. I guess in our subconsious "ajunngilaq" means "it's good" , but actually just translating it means "not bad". "How are you?" is "qanoq ippit?" Or shortened "qanoq ik'?"
@@TheLetterKyu Arctic indigenous languages of Americas and Greenland are lovely 🧡 I've been watching videos with audio in Inuktitut + english subtitles. Hunting stories and such. Nice and soft language to listen to. Too bad there are only couple of those videos in RU-vid...
Your language is absolutely beautiful. A dialect I have never heard before finding your channel. Love it and your family. ❤ Edit: the comments are a war im sorry.
@@strand-dx8pu Accent is local way to pronounce a language. Dialect is variation of language (example American standard english and Irish english are two dialects) Kalaallisut aka. Greenlandic is a language and a dialect. Related language (Inuktitut) is spoken in arctic Canada but Greenland indigenous people and Canadian arctic people don't understand each other very well without translator, as the languages have diverged quite a lot from each other
Ajunng? ❤ I will try to remember ❤ Here in the north of Austria, we had the most perfect autumn morning, full of mist, colourful trees and crows on the fields 😅 we say: Wie geht es dir? Or Wie geht's? 🤗😚😚
I live in North Carolina, in the USA and I love waking up to fresh fallen snow. We don’t get much that often, but it’s beautiful to wake up to when we get it.
It's fabulous when you know it's going to be gone soon! I live in Minnesota and it's fine until New Year's, then I'd like it gone. (Usually sticks around until May)
You're literally a breath of fresh air and I think the meaning behind "life is amazing" which is heard about, is heart-inspiring. Keep sharing more of wonderful Greenland with us :)
Each episode I watch makes me more happy that Inuk Culture is starting to be recognized more and more. There is so much to teach and so much to learn. From Northern Canada I say, live, love, learn and teach!
I was just introduced to your channel today and I love your energy! I can’t wait to learn more about Greenland from your videos 😊Thank you for sharing your part of the world with us ❤
Thank you for teaching us something different every day on your videos. You guys are amazing. God bless you and thank you for being you and unique. God bless your beautiful family. Keep up the amazing work. You are definitely getting through to people and I am loving it. I am all in, we need more people like you in this world to make this world a little better one day at a time, much love and props to you all with our love from Jersey❤🌎♾️👏👏👌🏼🙏🏻🥰
Thank you for sharing another just simple but lovely moment with us. I used to live much further up north so what I will really miss this winter is a proper winter. With snow from October all the way until April. I envy your current weather. Take care and see you tomorrow!
So beautiful ❤ I hope the weather stays nice in Greenland. It’s actually getting quite cold on the east coast of the US, I haven’t had a true fall here in years.
We had a high of 40 deg Celsius where I live in Australia. I wish I was making snow angels in Greenland today 🌞 Wishing you Q and everybody else, a beautiful blessed day 💕 Such a great start seeing your beautiful smile.
It is so beautiful there. I love your channel and send thanks for all you share. I will say I'm very jealous of your snow and cold weather. That would be my favorite all year long. ❤
Good morning and so nice how you are speaking from Greenland. You should come to america one day likewise I need to see Greenland before there is no more snow!!! Have a great day!!
After growing up in Europe, one thing I miss in Sydney is the smell of fresh snow. Every now and again we get a whiff of it when it’s cold enough but nothing is nicer than the world looking like it’s covered in powdered sugar combined with that smell. Thank you!
In New England, we call that, "the first snow that sticks." We have had, maybe, one snow that stuck in Central Massachusetts so far this year. It melted away by the afternoon the next day, though. I hate dealing with the snow and the freezing temperatures, but I'm ready for winter at this point! We usually are consistently in freezing temperatures by December 1st, but it's still up and down and it's December 10th!
The air must be wonderful!!! You have the worst snow and here (Lower Rhine Germany) it was so warm today that people went cycling in skirts and short tops... Greetings ❤️🙋🏻♀️
Ayup is what we say as a greeting or kind of "what's going on!?" in the midlands of England and the southern part of the north, and there was a lot of Danish immigration at one point, a very long time ago. I wonder if it is connected.
It's kinda funny to see it looks like winter has arrived there in Greenland already while we over here in Spain are still waiting for the autumn to properly come 😂 today, 11th of October, it's been 28ºC outside! Though we are expecting rainfall for the end of this week finally
Are you not bored by the snow? I know it looks beautiful and magical, but too much and too long of it is tiring. I love snow in December, also in January, but am looking for spring in February, where temperatures are rising and first spring flowers bloom. Snow in march is annoyance, in April is OK, when it melts the same day, but preferably I would love to forgot the winter by that time. The problem is, that winter is just lasting too long and I (and many others) dislike wintery days in spring. Early winter days are also not welcomed.
I like you soo much. I do not care for snow and went back to my homeland in africa senegal. But i know how it feels to be back home. We are right down your alley fighting for our real independance from well "them".love learning from indigenous people. As they have stolen my identity. I was born in capo verde. Which means greenland. but my ancestors were slave so i don't know my culture. You people are so lucky to know your roots. Its amazing and beautifull
Im here in Austria havin days with 25 degrees celcius thats very unnormal. My last real snowy winter was in 1988 i think. At least were we live. 😢 happy first snow😂
I'm sure you have answered this in some video, but do Greenlanders speak Greenlandic as their mothertongue, or is it Danish everyone speak and some ppl try to revive the Greenlandic language? Like Scottish Gaelic for example.
Did you ever sing your alphabet yet? I’d love to hear how each letter sounds but also hear the unique song you use to teach kids the letters (if there is a song).
Hey completely unrelated but do you guys celebrate Halloween? I know not everywhere does so I thought I’d ask! Thank you for teaching us about Greenland and the Greenlandic language!
That’s cool, but in Hebrew, can you say to a do Jewish guy, hej, it means fall down. 😂 so if you combine this knowledge, it sounds like how is your falling in society your money /wealth status😂
I live in Tasmania Australia thank You for sharing that your very different life and culture I love your channel such as yourself who are extending my world knowledge so much. Life is so good.
In Greece have 25 Celsius we go to the beaches yet and christmas will be like this they sead .let's change country for a week .kisses from Thessaloniki Makedonia Greece
I've never experienced below zero temperatures so I don't know how I'd cope with your snow. If I were to come to Greenland I think I'd have to come when it's green, perhaps in August when your summer temperatures are close to our winter temperatures!
Still summer in Greece... today i was wondering when we are going to stop wearing t-shirts and shorts...also Greenlanding is the most difficult language i have ever heard
