“How Does He Get Special Treatment?” | BBC Scrutinised Over Huw Edwards Case

BBC director-general Tim Davie will face tough questions from Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy about what the corporation knew about Huw Edwards’s case after the veteran broadcaster admitted to making indecent images of children.
The corporation has said it knew of the veteran broadcaster’s arrest on “suspicion of serious offences” in November, but continued employing him until April.
Questions will surely be raised about why he continued to receive his large salary - as the highest paid newsreader at the corporation - for five months after his arrest on charges of making indecent photographs of children.
Talk’s Mike Graham is joined by political commentator Benedict Spence to discuss BBC’s handling of the case.
Benedict: “If you’re the guy at the very top you can get away with a pattern of behaviour and no one will say anything.”

Flying solo wont work ! It will take a national organised protest where the job can be done by the people en masse. The BBC serve the Government as a propaganda machine, and that includes any Government - Tory or Labour !! The BBC are not going anywhere. I think we all realise by now that Tory and Labour really are just two cheeks of the same arse ! and the BBC are controlled by the same people who control Tory and Labour.

This is a media wind up just because the employer is the BBC. If you are arrested for something, are you then to be suspended on no pay? No employer can risk doing this as they would certainly lose in an employment tribunal. It is only when found guilty or plead guilty in a court that presumption of innocence ceases and employer can dismiss/financial consequences.

You can train as many medical folk as you like to work in the NHS but unless you deal with the horrendous bullying by managers; and the ridiculous workload, you will never ever ever have enough competent staff!!! Having worked in the NHS and also the CHCP, in my opinion the CHCP is top notch. In fact it is so good that locums were applying for permanent jobs with the CHCP. CHCP = city health care partnership. The CHCP is "co owned for better profit"organisation, investing profits into services, colleagues and communites. If all NHS became CHCP, it would be easier to sack the bullies, etc.
