I would like to add something to this regarding obesity. As far as eating addiction goes, as someone who struggled with emotional eating for the vast majority of my life and then lost 80 lbs in 2 years just by cutting out desserts and candy, it wasn’t the fact that things were processed that made me addicted, it was my heart and the fact I was not turning to God and instead relying on desserts and candy to get me through sadness and anger and any other uncomfortable emotion. I ate everything else and was finally able to cut calories to be able to lose weight and I lost it even without working out. I think we have a spiritual problem, too.

I'm so impressed by Grace! I developed a fascination for all of this same stuff in high school as well, but I didn't have the motivation to start a huge project like this; I just changed my _own_ diet! I haven't eaten chips, candy, store-bought desserts, or soda more than a few times a year since I was _16_ because of all the research I discovered about this then I was in high school in the 2010s. I'm 24 now, and I genuinely don't like fast food, most chips, most candy, and soda. It tastes fake and gross! You just have to refuse those things for _long enough_ that your body stops wanting them. I've gone even further recently, by starting to scratch-bake my own bread and scratch-cook all my own food! It's hard work and it takes time, but I'm also finding that it's really enjoyable. And it feels _so good_ to eat macaroni and cheese or soft, sweet bread, and know that there are only 5 whole ingredients in it, instead of 50 with all this nasty stuff in it! Onward and upward, Grace! I'm rooting for you. And I'm _SO EXCITED_ for another natural birth episode!! I don't have kids yet, but my husband and I want to try sometime this year, so I'm soaking in ALLL the info I can find on natural birth and parenting, so I can be prepared. So pumped!!

It’s scary to think there is no end to this cycle. Cigarettes was the last generation, now it’s processed food. So what will be the new sneaky way they have planned for the next generation? Seems like they already plan for the next big thing once they see processed food is now out and we’ve caught on to that one.

Doctors are putting on blinders for $$$. Our healthcare industry is disgusting and a HUGE part of the problem. Avoid typical doctors. Nurse practitioners tend to be more holistic and warn of the dangerous foods and sugar addiction. I'm told to eat the SAD as my lifestyle. However, this was disowned by the creator. Sweden went away from our diet that we are hooked on today. To eat clean and healthy is FAR cheaper realistically, but it's made to be more expensive so we eat the garbage. Even the "healthy" food companies are in it only for money instead of health. Don't buy the "clean" and "organic" foods. Look at the label. Learn the new terms used for processed foods.

Food is so important, especially when children are growing. We need to teach them what to look out for in school and at home. But I think she skipped over the environmental factors that play into cancer. A major factor. Exposure and use of things like makeup, bath products, scented home sprays, candles, carpet glue, CIGARETTES, water additives from treatment facilities, artificial sweeteners, exposure to toxic smoke/gas and radiation and many other things can cause healthy people to get sick. Be safe and be your own advocate, it's your body.

I love this! Great work, ladies! 2 things: there is a program at our farmers market in Boone NC where they do Double Up Food Bucks and people who use SNAP can double their dollars and get access to so much amazing food! (Even plants to grow their own food!) Secondly, when I was a career gal without a family, I could prioritize my budget and get more of the boutique brands. Now that I am living in Joe Biden's economy with a family, it's VERY hard. So don't beat the parents up too much. We aren't buying Twinkies, but definitely have to make harder choices to stretch the dollars. We try to abide by the dirty dozen and the clean 15. Inflation is our biggest obstacle right now. I have to shop all the store's sales to be able to afford healthy food for our family. For those parents who don't have the time to do that, they just end up doing what is easy and typically isn't healthy. We have to extend grace while also informing like you are doing an amazing job of!! ❤

Great job sweet girl. Only constructive criticism- ketogenic diet is not healthy for the general public (sans people with some types of epilepsy/pre diabetic ppl for a short amount of time) & running off of ketones is a- unsustainable and b- regarded by almost every physician specialty as likely harmful. The benefits you are experiencing are real, but likely due to the higher quality foods you are consuming, not the keto diet. Please nourish your body with healthy complex carbs to avoid the possible health concerns that come with keto❤️ regardless, very well done!!!
@IN12606
@IN12606 5 месяцев назад
Yes I was going to say the same thing!! Menstruating women (and everyone) need slow carbs!! (Think oatmeal or sweet potatoes) To have a healthy cycle!! 🎉
@jasminewilksch5727
@jasminewilksch5727 3 месяца назад
Complex carbs are literally still broken down into glucose, which still leads to elevation in insulin. Which is good to keep your blood glucose in a normal range, but if it is constantly high, hyperinsulinaemia leads to many complications such as PCOS, hypertension, cancer, erectile dysfunction, type 2 diabetes. If ‘almost every physician specialty’ believes a ketogenic diet is likely harmful and pushes high carb diet they need to learn their physiology
@aprilr.2365
@aprilr.2365 3 месяца назад
@@jasminewilksch5727 Complex carbs are broken down slower & therefore cause the insulin levels to rise more gradually as opposed to a sharp spike. The problem with most people with these health concerns is they eat an EXCESS of carbs, not a diet with balanced macros. The solution to that, however, is not an ultra low carb diet, it is a balanced diet with a proper amount of complex carbohydrates. Proper macro balance (which can vary a bit, but should never exceed a certain % carbs) is how you avoid a high carb diet… not by running towards the other extreme. Physiology is complex and the impact of not consuming *healthy* carbs with a healthy balance of macros will impact other systems of the body besides endocrine. Unless it’s used to treat a larger medical problem for which keto is indicated (in which cases, like prediabetes, it’s often used short term anyway) most specialties as a whole do not recommend it due to harm on other body systems. When you zoom out of a specific issue (or specialty) and look at the body as a whole, holistically, keto is not a net positive. Extreme restriction of otherwise healthy foods is rarely sustainable or healthy (beyond allergies).
@jasminewilksch5727
@jasminewilksch5727 3 месяца назад
@@aprilr.2365 what harm does it do to other body systems?
@aprilr.2365
@aprilr.2365 3 месяца назад
@@jasminewilksch5727 Initially, keto causes electrolyte imbalance, muscle loss (all weight loss is accompanied by this), water weight loss, gut dysbiosis (the fiber & quick energy of carbs are essential to microbiome health) and all symptoms associated with gut dysbiosis (fatigue, immune dysfunction, “leaky gut”, etc). After the first few weeks, it Is (causally, *not* simply correlation) linked to symptomatic low blood pressure, kidney stones (related to citrate levels), stress on the kidney, constipation, nutrient deficiencies and an increased risk of heart disease. Also causes buildup of fat in the liver, leading to liver disease (NAFLD). Per significantly validated data, long term restriction of carbs has lead to heart arrhythmias, cardiac contractile function impairment, osteoporosis (especially In women) , kidney damage & CKD, increased risk of certain cancers and lipid abnormalities. As far as correlative data- people on a ketogenic diet are more likely to be linked to chronic disease while people who focus on macronutrients, Whole Foods, and plants are linked to longer lifespans and less chronic disease. Luckily, most people are unable to sustain the keto diet for this long. Unfortunately, the low sustainability means that immediately upon stopping, symptoms often return in full force, rapid weight gain occurs, and insulin spikes in compensation… bringing the patient back to square one, increasingly frustrated, and statistically more resistant to future dieting attempts (which introduces & perpetuates yo yo dieting) Carbs are essential to the body- it’s our job to eat healthy nourishing carbs in adequate servings that do not exceed recommended levels.

They have so much control and influence over our kids. They feed them candy EVERY single day. Cupcakes/icecream/capri suns ect. And that’s on top of their highly processed meals. The kids are there most of the day. I only get one meal in the evening to feed them real meat that’s soy free and unprocessed. And no I can’t homeschool because I’m disabled, working on getting healthy, due to all the processed food I was raised / brainwashed on.

As a dietitian, I want to just say that we are not all the same. I went to grad school and there we completed tons of studying on the lower carbohydrate diet. Just wanted to say that one dietitian doesn't speak for the rest of us. However, the bachelors degree in nutrition I admit was not very good education for the field of nutrition. It was just more memorizing and tests and very little critical thinking. My grad school changed that completely.

Love that we’re talking about this but PLEASE do not recommend a ketogenic/low carbohydrate diet. Sugar (carbohydrates) itself is not harmful or cancer causing. Your body runs on glucose, it is the most ideal source of energy for the cells. That being said, the sugar you consume should come from whole food sources, not processed food. When your body is in ketosis it is essentially running in starvation mode and using fat as a less efficient fuel source in order to survive without carbohydrates. When people switch to a ketogenic diet, they are typically eating significantly less fiber (correlated with type 2 diabetes and cancer) and eating more processed meat (group 1 known human carcinogen) and red meat (group 2A probable human carcinogen) which defeats the purpose of what you’re trying to accomplish: prevent cancer.
@iriskoomi2857
@iriskoomi2857 5 месяцев назад
Then tell me why people on the keto or carnivore diet thrive in ways that others don't? They're both used to help decrease inflamation and mental health issues. Psychiatrists use both diets to help people manage weight loss and depression and other disorders, like skin problems. Also, red meat is one of the healthiest things for you, as long as you get it from a good source. Red meat is actually healing for the body, for a lot of people.
@Addison737
@Addison737 5 месяцев назад
@@iriskoomi2857 You’re right, many people do feel better when switching to a lower carb/keto diet. 2 reasons for this: (1) elimination - when you switch to a restricted diet, you deliberately cut out many foods that could have been affecting your digestion, energy, and mood (less processed foods); and (2) confirmation bias - if you’re determined enough to commit to a complete change in diet, you want to believe it made a positive difference. Most people love to eat things like butter, bacon, and chicken so if there’s a diet that says “eat as much as you want”, people are going to hop on board and be less likely to point out or even notice negative side effects. Everyone loves to hear good news about their bad habits. No one wants to hear that something they’ve been eating regularly for their entire life is cancer causing (amongst other health impacts). In general, a ketogenic diet may reduce inflammation for a short period after switching from a diet of more processed foods, but over time, if you compare the inflammation markers of someone on a low carb vs a high carb (more plant based) diet, you will see they’re dramatically different. Again, red meat is a group 2a human carcinogen, regardless of where it comes from or how it’s processed. This has been known for decades. Go to the American Cancer Society’s website and view the “Known and Probable Human Carcinogen” page. Saying phrases like “it’s good for the body” doesn’t mean anything. What’s good? The saturated fat contributing to atherosclerosis and heart disease? The TMAO production it causes in the digestive system leading to the formation of fatty plaques in the arteries? The heterocyclic amines contributing to your risk of pancreatic cancer?
@iriskoomi2857
@iriskoomi2857 5 месяцев назад
@Addison737 I think you're delusional and you're the one that needs a reality check on where you get your sources. Keto helps medical conditions, such as siezures, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. That's been proven by psychiatrists who actually give a rats ass about their patience and don't just want to drug them for money. Also, if meat us so bad, why do carnivores thrive and actually reverse all their health issues? Ive seen people with skin conditions as well as people with chronic pain get off meds due to switching the carnivore diet. Nobody is going to tell you things work or are good, because they want you sick. Any "association" is going to tell you dont do that, because they want you sick. No sick person, no sick patient. If red meat was thar bed, everyone carnivore would have a hard attack and die, but it's really the complete opposite! This is obviously more your opinion based off research you've done, as is mine. I'm not going to go back and forth with you because it's simply not worth it to me. We're definitely and very obviously not going to agree. You can't talk to a brick wall that is already sit in their ways. I watch about 16 different functional medicine drs, and I see 3 myself, all who preach the same thing, so you're not gonna change my mind. Have a good one.

@@Addison737 Fasting IN CONJUNCTION with eating red cow meat is one of the best things you could do for your body. Autophagy, which is the body's response to periods without food, basically promotes the breakdown of damaged components and preserves cellular function. You could not fast eating simply vegetables and carbs alone, and red meat gives you essential nutrients like b12 which you cannot get from tofu or flaxseeds. Look you're not wrong, fiber is nice. But if you're fasting regularly and drinking real electrolytes with no sugar, moving your body, and consuming red meat, you'll be the epitome of health. I encourage you to research why keto was started in the first place. 👍🏻

@addison737 red meat is NOT a carcinogen. Those studies have been debunked time and time again. There is nothing wrong with a ketogenic or low carb diet. Your body does not need external sugar to function properly. Your body actually runs more efficiently on ketones and will produce all the glucose it needs. Now, there is nuance to this as some people do function better with a small amount of carbs in their diet as opposed to eliminating them all together. It's something you have to figure out on an individual basis, but there are tens of thousands if not millions of people living carb free lives in this country and thriving. Many of them have been doing it for decades.

Alex is _such a hype woman!!_ 😆 This "ad" of hers for the YWLS was the one that actually made me go look at the website, and I might actually be going now! I'm super introverted, so I don't know HOW she's SO HYPE, but I love it 😂

My mother passed away from lung cancer. I hypothesize that it was from oxalates. She had every symptom and chalked it up to something else. Oxalate crystals can wreak havoc on your muscles, bones, tissues and organs.
