You missed Clavish (Stamford Hill), T Mac(Fields), Note3 (Manor House) and B Young. The top 5 rappers over the years from Hackney Klashnekoff, J Spades, Asco, Unknown T and Clavish. They're the biggest and best rappers to come from Hackney. Rimzee is worth a shout and Pro Green but Margs success wise in music isn't on any of their levels so you cant put him in the top 5. 1 westwood freestyle and a couple UKoverstood dont put you in top 5 if we're being honest.
That’s a bit unfair and doesn’t paint the whole picture… you have to measure it in equivalence… you can’t measure success in Margs day (when the scene was in its infant stage) to the scene now, where every 5 minutes a rapper is getting a deal… Margs defo reached a high level in his day but the ceiling was just muchhhh lower than it is now… for example, if you’re getting 100k views a week and there’s only a million consumers of uk hip hop that’s more successful than getting 500k views a week if there’s now 20 million consumers.. how much of the overall uk rap market is the average rapper capturing now in comparison to back then? Cench probably has more listeners than Tinne Tempa did but that doesn’t automatically mean he’s had a more successful career, so much to factor in… Just my opinion 🤷♂️
