I'm pretty sure they had to say the spell, or it wouldn't have worked. The kids didn't say it and were fine. If they could just control people without tricking them into voluntarily participating in part of the ritual or spell, then they could have prevented their own hanging in the first place or at least stopped the kids from interfering with their plans.

they are already making a hocus pocus 2 but with different cast the new movie is about the 4th sister and how alison is the great great grand daughter of the 4th sister and apparently Winnie sucked enough life out max to become a ghost and get a spell that turns living to dead and dead to living..... i already spoiled enough

Everyone wants a sequel, despite Disney, it seems. They really treat this film so poorly. They've only JUST began to realize how popular it is.

In the second movie their songs are adapted by them but how would they know the originals? In this movie though they add their own words but literally heard the original song being sung when they walked in. As for why they sung here? Simple they were pointed out by Max and so the song made it look like they were part of the show. Sarah's song later also made sense as it was based on siren songs. A mystical song used to entrance and lure the kids

Right! Which is actually a bit surprising - and I say this as a very devoted fan. She is a mezzo and usually stays in a way lower register which seems to be her comfort zone. Sometimes she has sung a bit higher notes as well but this hit is actually quite exceptional. She really nailed this - and it suited her so well! I actually think she could/should have used her higher register more - it sounds so good and natural! She has said that high notes are not her forte but I kinda disagree. This proves it; she would have been able to do "more" ( I mean only technically; otherwise she's the best!) if she had someone to guide her vocally.

@@julieeverett7442 I know and that’s the point. It was so natural (not strained) that I’m sceptical if her range is/was actually closer to a soprano. She just didn’t have enough vocal training to reach the full potential or know what the reality was. (In classical field it’s not unusual that a ”mezzo” finds out later that she is actually a soprano. It’s very much the same thing here, just a different technique when singing) It’s all about practice, guidance and technique - sopranos work on their range all the time and get results. But of course it has to be done properly or it can cause damage.

Agreed! I just found this again and started to watch her other works. Well - she got a new, passionate fan who has completely fallen in love. Divine Miss M she is indeed. The voice is amazing, but there is so much more in her. Acting skills, delivering emotions, entertaining, compassion - and still being so humble, even though she is (rightly so) very confident - but never cocky or arrogant. ❤️
