@@sydsaturn3337 Well i didn't agree with part. Capitalism made her rich . Besides socialism is a very dangerous alternative. Regulated capitalism and strong social safety nets i do support.
It's a shame that she didn't see herself as an artist. I know quite a few people who I consider artists but they don't see it. If you play with colour, shape or aesthetics either as a job or a hobby, that's art. If create beauty or pathos to affect other people through at least one of their senses, you're an artist. If you make the world feel just a little better without focusing on the practical, then that's the art I love. It's a shame that Ms Westwood is gone, she had such an influence on the way that the 80s and 90s developed - and I'm not sure that she realised how consequential she was. But to anyone reading this, here is your sign to follow her footsteps and show the world your art. ❤️
Great footage, I loved the punk movement just caught the end of it in the early 1980s , we still had heaps of punk rockers going to discos. They would have slot of 4-5 tracks madness. But great crack. I was in P7 managed to squeezed into an undertones gig, just brilliant. Musics suited the era perfect in Northern Ireland, H Block hunger strikes, Thatcher, insane politics. Armed soliders everywhere! Checkpoints! Mass military searches, helicopters screaming about with spotlights, lift troops - dropping troops, funerals tens of thousands attending. All with non-conformity having its own theme track. Anarchy in the UK. Couldn't have cale along any better timed. I try to explain this to my kids now, DM boots, bleached jeans, Denis the menise jumpers red and black strips. Aged 11 and loving it..
A sad moment to see her leave to share her atoms with the universe, as we all must, but you have gratitude for for sharing this with us mate. Thank you.
I miss these interview vids you used to do, Chunks. Frankie Boyle one was good, and Nia Griffith my MP, and Mark Thomas at Merthyr Tydfil. And how is Max Keiser doing these days? Haven't seen him about for a long while. RIP VW.
I dreaded the bus stopping at the bus stop in a town where gangs of 18 hole dr Martins with bottles of cider, cigarettes and verbal abuse on tap.I never went upstairs on the bus back then lol Sitting amongst the blue rinse brigade lovely bingo biddies who the punks feared. They always went upstairs quietly knowing handbags were primed lol
Read Fashion and Perversity, watch her on the Terry Wogan show, read Grace Coddingtons memoir watch her fashion show with Rose McGowan and look at the uniforms she designed for Virgin Airways....
Well done Chunky, nice surprise that one and very appropriate. IMO You caught the essence of the wonderful activist, Dame Vivienne, in that interview. Thanks for posting.
Just a dreadful woman. Take the time to read Private Eye who has catalogued the dark side of her life and business in great detail. Beloved by the "luvvies" she will not be missed.
