Very well explained Rabbi Benhaim. I was in Israel in May 2023. My first time in fact. I thought i would feel such enormous goodness, love, warmth from my Jewish brothers and sisters. I did not feel this for the most part. In Jerusalem yes, but in Tel Aviv, Mitzpe Ramon, i felt what you described. When i was asked by people upon returning to my country , so how was your trip my answer was, i think my people, my eternal homeland Israel is sick. I felt it. It is very important to understand that in Torah, and in our ways we as Jews must not look so outward but more inward. And so yes Rabbi, you are succinct in your commentary. It is our lack of unity and unfortunately Israel is a democracy. It is the One place on earth that should not be democratic. That is a Greek identity, ideology. Israel should and must follow Torah. We have been in exile so long that perhaps we don't have the conviction , courage, wisdom to regulate what to do. So, we follow democracy, the goyim , assimilation. If the Halakha doesn’t allow usury between Jews, does that mean that Jews in America and in other parts of the world have access to interest fee loans that the rest of us don’t have? Are some people paying mortgages through the nose while others aren’t because of their religious group? I need to know.

But the halakha (Jewish law) that prescribes interest-free loans applies to loans made to other Jews, however not exclusively.” I mean Jewish law says that if you’re loaning money to another Jew, you are not allowed to charge interest on that loan. You can only charge interest to non-Jews. So are Jews in America getting access to these interest free loans while non-Jews are not? Or is this an archaic law, no longer relevant today, and everyone has to pay interest on their loans?
