The officer’s actions are inexcusable, we have the rule of law in the UK, police cannot hand out summary corporal punishment.

You made a statement in support of criminal violence Steven. This was either because you are an anarcho-marxist troll, or someone genuinely taken in by this jihadist lawfare talking head brought in by the BBC in their anti "common law" view of the good policing by a brave officer defending the public, and his colleagues against a criminally violent man who had possibly become an armed terrorist. After this criminal in a light blue track suit had landed several hard punches to the back of this PC's head whilst this policeman was trying to protecting his colleague from his fellow criminal (A WPC was hit and her nose was broken by one of the criminals' unprovoked punches, resulting in her being knocked to the floor). The older criminal then started punching this PC in the face ( they between them got in around a total of 15 punches to his head from the front and back). And the light blue tracksuit man joined in punching his head from behind. . Then taking advantage of the resulting concussed state of the male PC, the criminal in light blue tried to wrestle the PC's gun from the PCs holster and whilst so occupied was tasered so they both fell to the ground. Still dazed, and fighting his assailant whilst flooded with adrenaline and cortisol so in a very focussed of other innocent public/self defense, the brave PC, worried that his gun may have been taken or that the criminal was armed, he kicked him to ensure that he was incapacitated then sought to restrain him. Steven, if you have never been attacked by more than one person aiming to kill you, 15 even slightly innacurate head punches to the back sides and front of your skull are survivable (roughly the amount of head shots the two criminals got in during the initial 5 to 10 seconds of their assault on the policeman,) but your focus neccessarily becomes very limited to others you are defending then your own survival and self defence. The combined effect leads to concussion, which you may not survive. This brave PC did very well against two experienced, possibly militarily trained urban street fighters and deserves a medal. Your comment and... This sort of BBC edited, incomplete, irresponsible reportage fake neo-journalism should be strongly criticised and may be responsible for the recent stabbing incident in Southport where two children died. The BBC Newsnight editorial team and this vicious Barrister that needs to be examined and possibly barred from practising law. Together they need to be prosecuted under public order and/or prevention of terrorism legislation for showing this edited video along with their jihadist lawfare-like commentator, designed to imply that the policeman made a cowardly and "completely wrongful in any circumstance" possibly racially motivated or islamophobic attack on one of two possibly Muslim men. BBC propaganda shows that we are ruled by an elite seeking our destruction as a nation. And the replacement of justice through common law and resulting peaceful order. By survival of the most wealthy and possibly those amongst the fittest people that politically align with them. Whose side are you on Steven.?
