I’m kinda late to the game but I am looking to buy a 2015 SI Coupe and put a turbo. Hope theres a way to get to 450-500 HP to the wheels without any type of injection. Thanks for the nice video. Sounds perfect.
Is it a fully stock k24z7??? No change of valves or piston rods? Or sleeves? Piston heads? I ask because a cousin wants to boost his Si with a small turbo kit to make just a bit more power, nothing too crazy
looks like you relocated your battery, was there anything else that had to be relocated? i'm going to be running the same TSM turbo man for my setup thanks to finding this.
I connected a 0 gauge power cable from the original terminal to the front to the back where the battery is located at. Was kinda tricky cause the factory power cable connected to other sources and the ground as well has a sensor for the battery light that had to stay connected. I tucked it as best as I coild
Bottom end is stock? No head studs, upgrading timing chain, upgraded valve guides and tensioners? Or type a oil pump? My 24z7 on boost blew a rod through the block, any clue wtf this happend? Bad tune? Hitting limiter??
Could of been bad tuning cause this motor is completely stock. No oil pump upgrade needed unless you want to rev higher. Mines only rev to 7500rpm and was plenty for my setup. After 600whp these motor start giving up
This motor was stock, I wanted to see what they can handle and I say 500-550 on that range you can have a quick a still reliable daily as long as maintenance is followed up on
@@matsmith5937 it’s a risk when pushing this amount of power on a stock z7 engine but it’s possible, my motor had less than 90k miles. At 590whp that’s when I blew the motor but at 530whp I’ve had it last me a while
@@RagingBullNuts yea sir, this was a completely stock k24z7 on e85, motor was low miles like 70-80k around there but handled the power like a champ. Never cracked a piston, I threw a rod after 2 years
Not needed, the z7 head has bigger intake ports than any other k series only restriction is the exhaust port but does help gain lots of torque. Z7 engines all they need is rods and piston and they can hold lots of power
@@sonofnothing I know lol it’s cool, the turbo is a precision 6766 and the manifold is made from tristate motorsports. It’s a custom sidewinder for the z7 motors and handles very well
