Hearing about JAPA from a revered vedantin like You is simply endearing. Yet to listen to it completely but the beginning itself is so captivating when You say, this is by far the most important lecture! My Guru says, believe in a saint by seeing what He says about NaamJapa because that is the essence of Adhyatma! This was one of the question that I always had and I asked Sri Ramakrishna for the answer. I had almost forgotten about it. Sri Ramakrishna through Swami Sarvapriyananda gave me the answers. 🙏

প্রণাম মহারাজ। মণ্ত্র নিয়ে বিশদে এই আলোচনা শুধুই যে ভালো লাগলো এমন নয়, মণ্ত্রের জোড় কী অপরিসীম হতে পারে, তার একটা ধারণা তৈরী হলো। বীজমণ্ত্র মানে will force জেনে খুব ভালো লাগলো। বীজমণ্ত্রের সঙ্গে যে ঈষ্টদেবতা যুক্ত আছেন, তাঁর শরণাগত হওয়া। বিজ্ঞানের দৃষ্টিতে এটা cultivation of mental faculties!

I was initiated by God Narayana himself in bhramamuhurtha in 2021 Jan, in intuition he said don't waste your time, keep chanting Narayana instead of chitchating, wasting time. He mentioned chant hrs together 😢 but now l realise, Thank you so much swamy ji for this message.🙏🪷
Respected Swami Ji, Could you please do a session on Japa and Diksha for people in the material world? Most human beings live on a materialistic plane and are non-renunciates suffering from the trials and tribulations of materialistic living. For most of them to graduate to God realization is a steep task. How can they realize their most desired Purusharthas like Artha or Kama in a responsible and calibrated manner? Can they seek and find Gurus who are willing to initiate them in mantras which have a specific functionality for Purusharthas other than Moksha? I would love your wonderful elucidation on these aspects for householders and non-renunciates such as myself.
Swami please help! : I am christian orthodox and my spiritual father (the monk of our church) gave me his blessing to do the Jesus prayer ( Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me) . It's a very old tradition that goes back to the old holy dessert fathers. It is said that with this mantra a lot of sincere men got a pure heart and acieved holyness troughout the milenia. They told us that it is strictly forbidden to visiolize anything. Just to say the mantra in the mind with love and faith without imagining anything. Also not to connect it with the breath. They sai it is dangerous. I kneed in front of him and he put his hand on my head and gave me his blessing to do this prayer with the grace /help of GOD. Is this blessing to do the Jesus Prayer the same as the Initiation that you spoke about? Thank you for help!🙏
Great masters are always ready to bless us. But our desires are forcing us to stay away from them. It means we are blocking our own spiritual growth and none is responsible
Swamiji, the mantra that I have received (from RKM) starts with OM but no other BIZ mantra after that before the name of the deity. I believe that's ok.

Can a mantra (or practice) used for material gains interfere with a Guru Mantra for self realisation (as in the Ramakrishna Mantra). Can both be practiced at the same time without confusion or dilution in each mantras intended purpose?
Swamiji I am initiated from the Ramakrishna Math. Swamiji many times I have problem with counting the Japa. Is that ok or shoud give stress to keep track of counting .
What if doubt has arised in the mind of the disciple for his/her guru after been initiated because one didnt researched about the lineage of that guru..should the disciple still continue the process or look for another guru? What if you find a broken link in the lineage of your guru
Around ~30:00, The sounds written in books are such - Soham, hreem, kreem not hreeng, kreeng etc. Confused? Swami ji is final authority for me. But why 2 variation of sound of same syllable.🤔
I follow Swami Sarvapriyananda with great interest and have a question for him. I consider Hinduism practiced when Swami Vivekananda was alive and what is practiced today as the cause of all the problems of exploitation, lack of morality and truthfulness, courage, bravery, hard work, and the current plight of the people and the Indian nation. I also consider that what Swami Vivekananda taught was ancient Vedic philosophy and not Hindu religion. It seems from what Swami Sarvapriyananda says in the film "America's First Guru" and many times in his talks that he does not make this distinction and treats Hinduism and Vedantic teachings as the same thing. Am I right in making this conclusion?

Maharaj ji pranam, I have a question that if a person initiated, then he want to fulfill other worldly desire. Can he chant other mantra also for fulfill his desire at other time. Plz guide.
I sit on a stool with a cloth on it and mat on the floor to keep my legs while chanting. Ofcourse i keep my spine errect while chanting. Is this ok. Secondly, after formal chanting, can i chant during the day any place.
How are we in bondage? We asked to be here. You thought yourself into reality and you are free to do what you choose. Their is no bondage and their never was.
Try not be sad when things don’t go your way. Try not to be too happy when things go your way. Try not to be angry. Try not to be sad when lose something very precious or something you are attached. If you can’t do these things, you are in bondage else you are free.
You're still a kid now with your own understanding.. Your brain is unable to experience this reality.. Go and search the answer you will definitely get this..

He stressed worshiping Lord Kṛṣṇa, or Govinda, three times Oh, fools don't waste your time with grammar and philosophy. It won't save you when death comes, only Govinda can save you Sankaracharya understood that : sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ BG 18.66 This means that after all is said and done, only surrender to Govinda will save you
I think getting initiated from Ramakrishna Math and mission become so easy. Atleast in India. I had been initiated on Feb 2008 from then President maharaj at Delhi R.K mission by just filling one form. And along with me 100 others. So as you are saying it is not so easy to get mantra diksha from R.K order , I think it's wrong. Provided that if Swami Atmasthananda ji had realy given mantra Diksha on that day, as it was given to a group of people at R.K temple , Ashram. But if you are saying it is not easy then I must say that, on that day the mantra from Rev President maharaj is not valid. Or it was not a diksha that what you mean?
This a bunch of superstition. Swami Sahanada gave me diksha in 2012 and it was totally generic. Nothing special catered toward my temperament. No special chakras to focus on. I practiced it for serial years in a very disciplined way purely on faith but can now honestly say it didn’t absolutely nothing. Just chanting ohm is better in my opinion. I find that to at least help put the mind in a calm state.
Gold is gold, because it does nothing. It reacts to nothing. It causes nothing. That's why some people prefer copper, it's starts to turn a lovely green and blue with just a little milk and citric acid. It's very pretty and transmutative!
@@Hansel783I am reading the comments. Mantra comes to you when you are ready. We think we are ready but Nature and our karma knows when. Till then we feel even if we chant nothing happens. Mantra is a part and path towards the goal. It focuses and holds us straight, steady and steer towards the path . Guru and Mantra comes to us when we are ready through births. Till then we feel nothing happens
