The Conservatives have announced plans to reintroduce twelve months of mandatory national service if they win the upcoming general election.
Under the proposal, 18-year-olds would have the option to apply for one of 30,000 full-time military placements or participate in community service by volunteering one weekend a month.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that reinstating compulsory service across the UK would revive the "national spirit" seen during the pandemic.
Labour oppose the plans, which are expected to cost around £2.5 billion, labelling them as "desperate" and "unfunded."
The Conservatives aim to initiate a pilot program in September 2025, with further details to be determined by a Royal Commission.
The military placements would provide young people with training in areas such as cyber security, logistics, procurement, and civil response operations.
Non-military volunteering would involve 25 days of service with organisations such as the fire service, the police, and the NHS.

Great idea, 18yos having to wake up early, no tiktok, go and exercise, developing team work and new skills. And the 1 weekend a month option in Australia could involve volunteering with the RFS, SES, RSPCA, feeding the homeless etc. And give them a benefit, like the Dutch, free Uni or whatever if you do a year full time

Totally agree mate, give the training then give the incentive I doubt any would deep down hate the experience unless they are one of those can't save kind of arseholes etc...You could make a awesome video of human behaviour just watching them day to day with live streams where you get to donate warm clothes or pay to take it off them lol Would you give or take lolololol

Yes that makes sense foreign interference is not cool for Australians in Australia. The look on the foreign interference’s face when surprised you have your drivers license after a check in realising no power do they behold over Australia is cool especially when they get grubby having those willing to stand against tyranny whom put God and Jesus first as to be for the best of truth. And not all have commonsense as you’re seeing with certain ideological beliefs as demonstrated by a lack of understanding for the Commonwealth.

All the biggest National secrets are in the Holy Bible. Just read the Word of God until that penny drops. Stay true to the promise of God. Once you find the Truth then the truth shall follow on there after as the more truth you can handle the more truth you will get as more of the Truth you become.
