Hell the Batman v Superman was a what if story as well, with a FAR weaker superman written by a guy who hates superman and loves batman. It is fanboy story. I love batman, but I love the grounded realistic Batman who knows he cannot stand toe to toe with the beings superman fights. He uses tactics and trickery, but never fought directly. He was the rich brain of the JL and he let the big leagues do their thing why he supported and gave them tools to enhance their powers. Then this story came out and every Batman fanboy went ham saying he beats everything with prep time forgetting he is still just a mortal human (peak of human in all regards but still just human). This ruined his special character identity where he was a man amongst gods, now he is just another god in a different way and it is boring much how most of DC is boring since EVERYONE is over powered but has easily exploitable weaknesses, or something beats them that shouldn't because their prior powers and actions show that to be the case.

But yet he ducks when they throw the empty gun at him.

I still wonder why ppl hated this movie. Its no Oscar winning film for sure but definitely a decent superhero movie with a good story just off pacing.

@@rfm601I like it to but the pacing certainly is an issue. I feel like there's a great fan-edit version in there somewhere. If someone tightened it up a bit and cut out some of the typical Snyder bullshit, this would've been much better received. The fights are already great though.

Bruce realizing he’s essentially becoming Joe chill by “killing martha” and throwing away the spear is the best batman moment in any batman film, and ties in perfectly with Batmans idea of defying your nature to do good. Its still not a top 3 scene in the movie though

Superman is nothing without his super power. Where batman was far ahead with his anger towards criminals. In batman first part, he was able to fight with 7-8 trained criminals alone. His proper training started after that. So you can imagine when superman Looses his power due to kryptonite, he was just a normal human like batman. And after that we all know how batman stop that move from Clark easily and superman was in no position to fight without his superpower. That's why batman said, YOU ARE NOT BRAVE, MEN ARE BRAVE.

This Superman hadn’t interacted with Kryptonite before this moment, the closest he got was being near Kryptonian technology which weakened him but not to the same extent

Great point about the martha plotline actually makes me like the movie a little more.

I mean, yeah, because he's Batman. He's incredibly intelligent, he's a master detective and tactician. He KNOWS Superman won't kill him in cold blood. He KNOWS Superman will pull his punches. He KNOWS in this face to face confrontation Superman's boy scout attitude and morality will allow the opportunity to set the trap, so to speak. The same thing applies to how Batman beat Darkseid. He knew he couldn't beat Darkseid physically, so he held the planet Apokolips hostage with the detonation code forcing Darkseid to capitulate and retreat. Knowing your enemy is half the battle, as the old saying goes, and Batman does, that's why he can win these fights where he's outmatched. Also, much in the same way that Superman is a paragon of the ideals of truth and justice, Batman is a paragon of human tenacity and willpower.
