I am from England, near Avebury and Stonehenge, and I find your lectures inspiring and was in Chaco in September,. It is amazing and I went to Aztec and many other places. Incredible.
Wow. Lots of new info here. Adding it to my novel: Kash Kachu (White House): in the desert southwest about a thousand years ago, two brothers fight for control of an ancient holy city racked by drought, famine and mockery. Self published on Amazon in Q2/Q3 2024
As for the tri-wall: here is my take. I’ve been to Aztec and based on the architectural features and layout of the reconstructed building(if accurate) it seemed it was intended that it could be evacuated quickly from fire or other external danger like raiders. A quick overhead examination of the entire site, to me, looks like the circular tri-wall buildings would help in support of defense of the primary structures making a complete encirclement/siege more difficult. Again, experts feel the populations at this time were limited and you would not see vast numbers of standing militaries in antiquity of Eurasia, but surely there was conflict minus the use of metallurgy in weapons. Still, I feel the Chaco phenomenon was a long distance trade corporate venture from Meso-America. And the Aztec empire would come after Chaco, but they also had a rival they could not conquer from the West Coast the Tarascans. There are many unknowns from that time without written histories that we know of.
The significance of North, my take is simple geography. Meso-America gets narrow as you go south and was well traveled way back. Going North the land mass expanded and was considered the final frontier. I accept the Altapetl thesis and coupled with established long distance trade networks ala Pochtecas, I feel this was a corporate venture. Multi generational and requiring the importation of labor, food, etc to Chaco that did not have a full time river. It required a certain determination to build the capitol there. Only something on the level of an integrated state and or company or it’s post classic equivalent would/could do that.
We Natives knew & still know our "ancient latitudes" 0 (equator) -19 latitudes, 19 -29 latitudes, 29-39 latitudes, 39-49 latitudes & 49 to 59 latitudes. Now take the number and 26 divide it by 16 = 1.625 x 2 = 3.25 x 6 = 19.50 Teotihuacan to Angel Island Baja 3.25 x 9 = 29.25 go up one latitude to 30 degrees latitude = Paquime, 19.50 (Teotihuacan) x 2 = 39.00 Manitou Cliff Dwellings (Pikes Peak) Colorado. Mid-point between 52.00 (3.25 x 16 = 26.00) is the latitude of the Cave paintings at Loreto Baja at 26.00 latitude. 26.00 x 2 = 52.00 latitude the Great Wall at Mount Saskatchewan Canada which is associated with the Great Wall at Gornaya Shoriya Siberia which is also at 52.00 latitude. Too bad no one believes us!
The people who know such things; the knowledge, locations & deep meanings do not have to prove or convince anyone of it , or join those ranks to recruit another no one to believe them.. No One's are often very busy believing whatever they believe and reinforcing convictions by convincing the many someones & other no ones of their knowledges & beliefs. Like a church looking for ever more converts and cash in order to save more no ones souls from themselves, or the archeologist looking for ever more discoveries, claims & theories as said truths, in order to obtain ever more cash support for their mission and convictions and ultimately finding fame in their small academic circles. Much knowledge, meanings and locations are best kept close amongst the keepers of such knowledge, as it has been tradition with the people for time immemorial. We know just who we are, where we have been, and just where we are still going to this very day. Shundahai & Walk in Beauty. It's still a long way home.
The Inca empire extended 2500+ miles in longitude, The Aztec empire covered most of central Mexico, The Maya held southern Mexico and central America, All traveled and traded extensively over great distances over a long period of time.the Inca and Aztec cultures/ civilizations/ empires had realitively short existances around 200-300 years, The Maya had much longer run as a civilization & culture as did other lessor known or Meso American cultures florish & endure for well over a millimium like Zapotecs & others..Modern cultures, empires, civilizations are empressed with themselves if their history even endured for 500 years.Eurocentric mind does not understand how a culture could grow, and create build such magnificient structures and travel such long distances without the use of domesticated draft animals, the wheel or steel tools.. I imagine the eurocentric mind could not create, build or travel near as much if limited to the same innovations of technology used in the Americas. No wheel or Animals to bear the burden, No steel, iron, No massive watercraft.. The Maya like the Polynesian people and many other coastal people of he Americas nncluding California, Washington up to Alaska all built very seaworthy canoes. and moved freely for thousands of miles over long periods of time.
